Winter Sidebar

I know that it's obtained by a random event in Terror Mountain, I was just wondering if I was to sit here and hit reresh until I got the thing, how long would it take? Hours? Days? Months? That and the premium (which I'm not going to get) are the only sidebars I don't have, and it's starting to annoy me!

It was first released as a Terror Mountain Random Event in February of 2005, but it was given out en masse on the 31st of December at the Advent Calendar. Not everybody who visited recieved it. I believe the poll here showed roughly 1/3 of the people who collected thier calendar prize obtained it. Currently it is not known if it is obtainable or not.

Wow, I never knew that! I was on vacation with no computer access for the last 3 days of December, and just assumed I had missed useless Christmas toys and snacks and such. Now I'm sad

What that requirement is, I don't know. My guess is, you have to go to the advent calendar every day.

Nope. Tons of people went to the advent calendar every day and didn't get the sidebar, including, unfortunately, me.

This was discussed a lot last January and I think the conclusion was that no one has the slightest idea what the requirement is.

honestly that blows. I can understand where TNT is coming from, but not even hinting towards the requirments? How are we supposed to know? Just keep checking back every single day? And praying/hoping like crazy you magically reach the requirements?

Does your account have to be a certain age?

Do you have to have a certain amount of Neopoints? Pets? Avatars?

Play certain games?

Post a certain number on the neoboards?

I'm gonna shut now, before I start ranting.

I got the sidebar from the Advent Calendar, and I believe I did it around midnight. That's when I usually do my dailies, anyway. I wasn't able to check the calendar every day either--but I did buy the prizes just to be 'complete'.

Goodness... I think I made up a list of all the things I did that day that might have contributed to me getting the sidebar, but I'll be darned it if helped. I wish I knew how I got it, but I wasn't paying enough attention and I've clearly missed something (when I got the Event, I assumed it was something everyone got, so I kind of shrugged it off as, "oh, nice." until I came back to PPT).

Yup. It is an ongoing Neopian mystery, probably most comparable to the Master Vex avatar (which, I'm sure, nobody has a clue how to get, other than playing Cellblock).
