X-men 3 - The final stand

Simply amazing. Lots happening. Its the last one but theres a tiny opening for a next one (which I hope they don't do) This is the perfect ending. Its so good. I won't go into detail to ruin it but all I'll say is that I loved the final scene on the island (if you've seen it you'll know which one). This is certainly a movie im gonna get on DVD.

Marie Antoinette

Awesome movie. So it's a chick flick: I was really excited to see it from a cinematic standpoint because it's supposed to (and did) have great costumes and I was really looking forward to the anachronistic soundtrack (i.e. the songs were all modern even though the movie was set a few hundred years ago).

It got booed at Cannes because the French boo movies for a lot of things, much more commonly than we do in Canada or the U.S. In this case, they didn't feel it portrayed the history well.

But don't go expecting to get a history lesson on Marie Antoinette and the French Revolution. Go to see the story of a teenaged girl (and later young adult, but keyword young) who became queen in a foreign country with all the pressures that come with that. It portrayed that flawlessly.

Oh and don't be upset with the sort of non-ending. It's history: we all know how the French Revolution ends. There's no need to show the gore. That's not what it's about.

The Devil And Daniel Johnston - A little overrated, but still pretty good.

I loved this movie until it got near the end and all the depression of what he had done started settling in. I understand why that part was neccesary for the movie, but it brought me down, even if the ending was good.

The Lake House -
A sweet romance movie, with some parts dragging a little, but over all it was cute.

Friends with Money -
 Defiantly an odd movie, indeed. We should've registered the [R] rating for this movie when there was a shot of Jennifer Anniston with her boyfriend ... *ahem* yes, overall it was cute, though, minus the off the wall crude humor and disfunctional relationships they all had.

This movie employs a lot of clunky plot devices, some of which are literally devices. Quite a lot of the acting was embarrassingly bad and I still don't understand why Christopher Walken agreed to do this movie. Yet, I liked it. This movie may not have a lot going for it, but it's got two very important things: a heart and a point.

I'd noticed it before, but this movie is a blatant example of how much Adam Sandler wants to be Jimmy Stewart. He's not. He'd be quite a bit closer if he stopped doing all that stupid frat boy stuff that was really funny when he was younger but isn't now. Ah, well, this was still a pretty decent Sandler film.

I don't feel like I wasted the dollar renting this.

Click, as well. I agree with your points; halfway through I pulled out my Nintendo DS and was playing while I watched. I found it fairly predictable; although I the depressing part got really sad for a while there. My favorite part was that the annoying family was the O'Doyles, like in Billy Madison.

A Prairie Home Companion:

Loved it. There was great acting - I especially liked Lindsay Lohan and John C. Reilly's performances. I'd recommend this, but you might not enjoy it unless you understand what the radio show "Prairie Home Companion" is about and who Garrison Keillor is. Lucky for me, I've listened to it before with my parents in the car, so I understood what was going on. There were lots of funny moments and it had a good, original soundtrack.

I enjoyed it! It was funny when it was funny and it was sweet when it was sweet and sad when it was sad...you get the point.
It had a good message and was entertaining. Thought it was great

Bed of Roses

There was no bed of roses in the whole of the movie, even though one was shown on the movie cover. let down number one. *sigh* the movie was enjoyable though, but the characters and their actions are questionable, especially when you know they should be acting in a different way. but if this is how people act when in love, then suppose it's very realistic. Bah, it's an excuse to see Christian Slater in action. :)

The Departed

"Was this movie good? I can't really tell" was what I said when it finished.
I can't get into it all all without ruining it, but I think anyone else who goes to see it will know what I'm talking about. The whole audience (it was a late show, so only about 50 of us) were laughing deleriously in the last 30 minutes or so. I think we all were thinking the exact same thing.

In answer to my own question, I'm going to say yes. This movie was REALLY good.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

I am not a cinema-goer :(

The film was great, just like its prequels, but I still love the Chamber of Secrets. The beginning kinda scared me though I loved it when they get to the campsite and Harry says, "I love magic."

The bit when Fred and George try to infringe the Age Line to the Goblet kinda got me in hysterics...

... and I loved the way Harry flew on his Firebolt to do the First Task and avoid that Horntail. He's brave.

Hermione looked absolutely gorgeous at the Yule Ball.

I'm sitting here just after watching it, thinking of a way to describe it, but I just can't think of anything. I just can't. It's powerful. Very powerful. It's also very sad. I knew it would be powerful, but not this powerful. I movie is excellent, but at the same time it's not due to the subject matter. If it was about fictional events then I could sing its praises to the high heavens, but because of the events that it's based on I just can't.

If you get a chance to watch this film, do so. But just make sure you have something or someone next to you for you to hold onto, because this is not a movie you want to see by yourself.

Even though I saw it last Saturday, I'll comment anyway.

This movie really disappointed me, it was trying to be what it wasn't, or at least, what it set out to be. What turned from a light hearted 'comedy' (and with that phrase used very lightly), it went into a 'serious' (see above note :P) drama - and the end is just awful. I mean... really awful. Terrible. x3 They should have left it at the dramatic point, instead of the entirely clichéd and boring end, that was horrible. I felt sad before it took the second turn.
