I just recieved this email from mailto:tntviolationnps@yahoo.com who is calling himself micheal johnson. He claims to be part of TNT. But don't be fooled. He asks you to verify info. The email I recieved is below.

Warning
You have been caught by TNT automatic detection software violating one of Neopet's Terms and Conditions (See rules for more information). In a recent neomail, you sent a non-Neopets e-mail address to one or more users. This is strictly against the Terms and Conditionsyou agreed to when signing up. Since using an e-mail address is an easy way for someone to gain access to your account, you must verify the following information for any and all Neopets accounts associated with your IP address. This is your unique internet address that tells TNT what accounts are accessed through your computer. Your account will be frozen within 24 hours unless you verify the account information below. Once verifying the account information, your account will be placed on probation for three weeks.Any violation of the Neopets Terms and Conditions will result in the immediate freezing of any and all accounts associated with your IP addresss. In order to prevent this from happening, you must verify you are the owner of all Neopets accounts. Please reply to this e-mail with the following information for each account:

Active Username(s):
Active Password(s):
Active PIN(s):

You must verify all three pieces of information for each account to stop it from being frozen. We apologize for the trouble, and please refer to the Terms and Conditions you agreed to when signing up to prevent any violations of the Neopets rules.

Sincerely,
Neopets Account Protection Services

Thank you very much for the heads up :)

Bit weird as the Terms and Conditions say that TNT won't contact you asking for your private info... but that's life :(

Uuuugh, not ANOTHER one of those. When will these people give up?!

Well, at least you didn't fall for it like the last person. *shakes head*

Thanks for the heads up. Mind you, if I got one of those I'd probably report them, then send them a long email full of swearing to show them how much I appreciated their message.

But honestly... @yahoo.com ?!! How stupid can people get?

I think most of the time, anyone who falls for these horribly-written scams deserves to lose their account. I mean, we see hundreds of mails like this every year... fake mails from eBay, Paypal, Amazon, everywhere. And TNT tells us all over the place that they'll never ask for our password and info and will never use a non-neopets e-mail. And yet these scams must work on some people, because they never die... I'm embarrassed for those people. ;)

Frankly, I can agree with this. Everyday someone says not to give out your password, et al. If a person still can't understand this concept, then it's really their fault that they lost their account due to their own greed.

Thanks for the warning. :) I swear every time we turn around there is a new variation of this type of email/neomail.

Interesting to see just what people come up with. It's the same tactics people use to try and scam real world bank accounts and sites like eBay, amazing that it filters down to an online game.

I've never had a single scammer neomail or email me - I guess I'm just not interesting enough to them :cry:

Would anyone else feel like setting up a sting on these guys if they were TNT? It would be very easy to make a fake account and track the goods.

I kinda like getting spoof emails, as odd as that sounds. They're kind of entertaining. I've gotten spoofs of eBay and PayPal before, although as of yet I haven't gotten one claming to be Neopets. I laughed my butt off then promptly reported them. XD No offense, but I really do wonder about the brain capacity of anybody over the age of ten who falls for these.
