To train hitpoints, you need to go to either of the training schools and select Endurance when it's asking you what to train. :)

As for you, hawtie, I recommend trading the Snowglobe Staff up for a Black Frost Cannon. Maybe you could get a stealer if you wanted to, but there's not much else to change. You're pretty well set for now. You've got a good training fund, there. ;)

The lab ray, Mystery Island training school, and Krawk Island academy can all increase your hit points. At the training school and academy, to increase your hit points, sign up for "endurance".

Training: Bring your strength and defence up to at least 25. There's a strength boost at that point, so you'll start dealing out and blocking more damage per icon. I'd also recommend training hitpoints (endurance).

Abilities: I recommend getting Drain Life (lvl 21 Dark ability), Burrow (lvl 10 Earth ability), and Sink (lvl 30 Dark ability) as soon as possible. There are a few others worth getting, but those are the best. In the meantime, get Heal (lvl 1 Water ability), as it's terribly useful when you're just starting out.

Weapons: Depends on your budget, but here's a good basic set. You've got a good start on it.

- Leaf Shield (keep)
- Scarab Ring (keep)
- Downsize! (keep)
- Purple Sticky Hand (keep)
- Illusens Earth Potion (replace Mud Mixture)
- Slime Potion or Greater Healing Scroll, depending on budget (replace Fiery Sun Scroll)
- Snowglobe Staff (replace Improved Lightning Beam)

As for the Obsidian Dagger...tough call. It's largely blocked by Scarab Rings, which are pretty common in the BD at your level. On the other hand, it's got a chance to deal 8 icons, which is pretty nice. I don't know if you're more into the 1-player BD or 2-player fights, but I'd keep it for now if it's the former and replace it if it's the latter. If you decide to replace it, I'd go with another Scarab Ring, a Tooth of Terask, or a Stone Club depending on your budget.

Hope this helped! :)

I'm a new battler (mainly 1-player) and I'm slowly working on improving my set. At the moment it consists of:

My pet's a lab rat so species changes constantly, as do stats but at the moment it's horribly uneven... if he ever gets to a decent species/colour combo I'll train him properly.

Species : Blumaroo
Level : 31

Health : 201 / 201
Strength : LEGENDARY (108)
Defence : GREAT (35)
Move : AMAZING (80)

Current set:
HP
PFF
Ice Club
Downsize!
Yellow Sticky hand
Leaf Shield

My open spots are usually filled with fragile freezers or a thick smoke bomb for DoN... any suggestions as to what should be added/replaced next.

I have posted before and had another question. Should I focus mainly on HP? Or diversify and keep everything about equal...

Level : 31

Health : 43 / 28
Mood : extremely happy
Hunger : bloated
Strength : GREAT (24)
Defence : GREAT (22)
Move : lightning

This set has been working very well for me but do you more experienced players see an area I am lacking in?

Leaf Shield
Downsize!
Patched Magic Hat
Scroll of Moon Light
Scroll of The Dark Star
Enchanted Wooden Bow
Scarab Ring
Blue Scorchstone

I do have burrow and am currently working on getting the other ablilities recommended.

Too many shields. :) You have around 200k to spend, correct? I'd go with something like this, which I think is well under budget, especially if you sell that other stuff:

Stone Club or Ice Club
Earth Faerie Slingshot or Earth Faerie Bow
Scarab Ring
Greater Healing Scroll
Downsize!
Leaf Shield/Mystical White Cloak (switch out based on opponent)
Snowglobe Staff or even Green Frost Cannon, for freezing
One-use bomb (I like Chocolate Chip Battle Biscuit) for use in tight spots

If you have enough cash, use Stone Club and Ice Club, or one of the two plus Golden Compass, instead of the earth faerie weapons. :)

Keep str and def at around twice your level and hit points higher than that. Keep in mind that you can't train any stat unless level is half as high as your highest stat.

Faerie abilities to get as soon as possible: burrow and sink. The others I mention in my first couple posts on this thread are good, but those are the biggies.

Woohoo! The battle's started. :) (I don't really want to call it a war, cause.. well, it isn't.)

I have a Darigan Lupe, with such stats:

HP: 80
Strength: 80
Defence: 76
Move: 51 (Though that's not important, right?)

Current Equipment:
Scarab Ring
Scarab Stone Slingshot
Leaf Shield
Greater Healing Scroll
Downsize!
Taelia's Token

I'm happy with the Leaf Shield, Greater Healing Scroll and Downsize! for now, but I never use Taelia's Token and the Scarab Ring and Scarab Stone Slingshot could do with an update.
I'm happy to trade all 3, and I imagine I could get about 110k in total off any price with the bunch. My np budget is 500k, so there'll be about a 600k spending allowance, more or less.
I need something that'll last me through the 55 boost until I get to the 85 boost (I don't plan to get any higher than that, yet). And even that's a while away. Heh. ^^;;

In short, my budget is 600k, and I need better weapons for a pet with the 55 and 85 boosts. I need something with good attack, and one thing with decent attack and defence.
I'd rather not have breakable things - something that will last a long time.

(I have more money, so going a over budget for something better doesn't matter much.)

ETA: Oh, yeah. And I only ever do 1-player battle, mostly in wars. So it has to be good against regular, one player opponents and best against unknown future war opponents.

Um, hey... Care to help out a completely clueless newbie?

My pet hasn't really been trained at all, and I don't really know what I'm doing, but I want to battle at least a little bit in the HW plot.
So this is what I've got currently:

Species: Eyrie
Agility: 14
Attack: 18
Defence: 15
Hit Points: 13
Level : 11

Equipment:
Sturdy Blue Shield
Obsidian Dagger
Lime Elixir
Yellow Frost Cannon
Mud Mixture
Mud Mixture
Fire Snow
Caustic Potion

What should I get and what should I get rid of? What's the best, cheapest set I can get to get me through as many battles as I can with this pathetically weak pet?

I know I won't last long, but I want to do the best I can. Thanks!
