Gah!
I tried reading the thread to see if anyone else was having this problem, and I don't see it. (I could have missed it however; there are a LOT of posts
) I can't get passed level one!
I have
Quantity: 5 grams
Relevant property: Enchantment
Target value: +55 +/- 5
So I make 5 grams of the composite, and it has an Enchantment property of 50.... and the stupid pot explodes!
This has happened twice. What'm I doing wrong? I'm trying with a different ingredient now, ugh...

It has nothing to do with the weight.
Oh dear, are you sure? I've been using the weight method and it worked out perfectly each time. Um...that's what wesoloid laid out and I just used that one..
If it works that way, then that is fine. But in the Gabby's case, she divided by 5 (the grams) and not by 3 (the ingredients used).
I have used the average Value for all mine and it has worked.
Can I combine 3 ingredients together. I did the first composite just fine with 2 ingredients , now I am trying to get the 2 composite.
Composite #1:
Quantity: 15 grams
Relevant property: Conjuring
Target value: +43 +/- 5
Composite #2:
Quantity: 25 grams
Relevant property: Power
Target value: +81 +/- 5
Composite 2 cannot contain more than 10 grams of any one basic ingredient.

That is the same problem I'm having. I get everything right (or so I think) but it doesn't work.
I have no clue what we are doing wrong! Let us know if using a different ingredient works for you. I'll try a different one after this attempt if it doesn't work.

I'd say I'm "glad" someone else is having the same problem -but I'm not, as it's aggrivating for BOTH of us! Agrh!
Maybe I should use more than one ingredient...blargh. Working on my third attempt...burn, Slorgsblossom, burn...!

Perhaps, but everyone is saying use just one for the first stage.
And I can't even understand HOW to use more than one ingredient!
This is so confusing, and I feel so dumb. XD

Squidling:: "For step 2 I wait till I have both compostites before adding them to the cauldron right?"
Yes, finish your second Composite before putting anything into the Cauldron.
Gabby:: "So with the 2 ingrediants I have to make 16g do I up them 'both' to 45 or do I split them and do 20 odd on one and 20 odd on the other?"
Each one has to be ~45, and then when you combine them the value of your relevant property in your Composite will be the weighted average of the values of those ingredients.
bett1boo:: "Can I combine 3 ingredients together. I did the first composite just fine with 2 ingredients , now I am trying to get the 2 composite."
Yes. You must use more than 2 ingredients for the second Composite.
Meer & Redsrevenge... have you tried getting it closer than +/- 5? Try aiming for the exact value. On the third round Composite #2, they demand +/- 3. Maybe that's what it should have been all along?

But Im stuck at +22 on one side and +16 on the other I cant burn no more on either side and nothing else takes it up
Am I doing something wrong?
You could try a different pair of ingredients. I have a table on my petpage that shows the effects of burning, crushing, soaking, and desiccating 5g of each ingredient for 60 seconds (two trials each). http://www.neopets.com/~PooglePuffikins If you look at it, you can see what causes Conjuring to go up more.
