I was lucky, to get into RDC (my frist college for the beginning of my degree), I didn't have to submit a portfolio. But I did have to submit one for two other places. My portfolio sucked so much then. Bwahahahaha.
Art school, like any program is hard work. Critiques suck badly (though I may simply be bitter).
I wish you definate luck with your program Pudd'n. But if you do end up in St. Johns, we may meet up if I end up down there to see my boy. *smiles* I'd throw cats at your head whilst doing a weasel war dance.
It'd be fun!

Do you know when you'll know if you get an interview? I don't. :P

I've finished all my applications to the UK and Canada now, though I expect to be filling in a form later on for Queen's, Kingston.

Yeah, well, I'd...hide the cats, and then look up what a weasel war dance actually is and join you! :D

Who knows? :P You applied to Oxford, eh? What for?

History of Art interviews are 4th-5th December, but I'll have to go down the day before. I daresay I'd have a lot of free time, so if you're about you should definitely let me know.

Provided I actually got an interview. Which is going to be impossible if I don't write this damned essay!

Mathematics and Computer Science interviews are on Dec 10-13, sad :(

The confirmation letter states that they post the notifications a minimum of 7 days before the "report by" deadline, so hopefully before the Nov 28th (Igg) and Dec 5th (me).

Weasel War Dance

Anyways. St Johns is pretty cool from what I hear. Although I keep trying to picture my boy in choral practice... and then I just laugh.

I'm being a rebel and not applying for Uni! Oooh.

However, I'm in the midst of stage school auditions. Applying for London Studio Centre, Laine Theatre Arts, MD2000 and Arts Ed Tring. Anyone else applying for theatre schools this year?

So basically you guys write a whole bunch of essays and stuff?

All I had to do was to fill in an application form, read a novel, go to an entrance exam (took me about 90 minutes to finish) and then hope for the best, and then i got in! :P And that was to major in English. I got into the same university just with my high school grades to another major (Finnish, that was my second priority on the list, English was my first priority).

I am in college, so I don't need to apply for anything. :P But I am thinking of trying to become an RA (Resident Assistant) next semester.

My uni application was easy.

Sign onto a site, pick a few courses, and submit.

Well, the uni I was going to was a bit harder - had to send in an application, and have a phone interview. But I nailed it and found out I was accepted 15 months before all my friends will find out :)

Gone, forever.

Well, in England, you apply through something online called UCAS. You can apply to 6 different things e.g. the same course at 6 different universities, 6 different courses at the same university and any mixture.
Some universities require you to have an interview/send work/take an exam/etc. and they get in touch with your separately to ask for the work.
Some have separate applications forms- Oxford and Cambridge do, because they're so top-quality, or whatever.

Ah yeah, in the US we have the same sort of thing called the Common App. It's a shame, however, that a lot of universities (mostly private ones) don't use it, because it's really easy to fill in and submit. There's also like 6 or so optional essays that you do, depending on which colleges you're applying to. Of course, you don't put in the courses you want here because each university seems to use its own numbering system. x_x

I'm planning on finishing all of my apps this weekend. Yeah, I know I'm lazy, but most schools won't let you apply until spring of junior year anyway.

Looking at the list of the member colleges, it seems like way more private colleges use it than public ones. Oh, and apparently one of the schools I'm applying to accepts it. *sighs and goes back to scribbling essays*

Man, I think I had to write about 9 different essays already....don't even get me started on scholarship essays.

St. John's sent me a few letters trying to get me to apply because I'm eligible for their scholarship or something.

The main college of my dreams is Carnegie Mellon (yay for common app!!)...and and, here's the exciting part: they moved their Art School deadline from Dec 1 to Jan 15!! I'm so relievedly happy...

Other than that, it's all private art schools that require portfolio slides that I still need to assemble and label.

My parents are happy that I'm already accepted in my safety school of UT (too bad scholarship app is due Dec 1)

Man, why is everything due Dec 1?!!
