I wouldn't consider 'OMG' to be swearing o.O

Yeah - Typing Terror is pretty shocking with the words, or it was when it first came out. Problem is, people don't report the offensive words in TT, they just complain, so nothing gets done.

Err, many people find using the lords name in vain to be highly offensive actually..

I think what she meant is that it's not a swear word, which I consider to be a variety of 4-lettered words.

Granted, using God is offensive to some, but it's not in the same category as swear words IMO.

The censor is horrible, I made a Dutch lookup once, saying 'je kunt', what means 'you can', and they censored it because they thought I said 'je kont', what means 'your smurf'.

A quick Google search shows a bunch of places where that word can be found, and yes, the first link is to the Neopian Times

Some dictionaries don't consider 'damn' as a profanity anyway....

The design/organization of the neopets site is an utter mess -- everything is spaghetti noodled together. It would be a miracle if they could pull off censorship/terminology standards.

Considering how popular the site is and how many features and such Neopets has, it's a miracle everything runs as smoothly as it does

There may be another reason that was censored...

I think if a word can appear in a family suitable movie (which as far as I know "god" can do) then it should be OK. Someone finding a particular usage of a word offensive (as in OMG) shouldn't be a reason to ban it from common use when the majority aren't bothered.

I s'pose I'm the only one who reads it as ohmguh, the way you'd say it if it weren't an acronym.

Do you mean "omguh"? If you do, then occasionally you're not the only one. ;)
