Someone had hold of my leg, and raised it too far. I ended up over balancing and falling to the ground, landing on my arm funny

Well, after I damaged my arm, I threw up, had a headache, dizzy, felt
tired and wanted to sleep.

I was taken to hospital, and we were there for a total of 1.5hours. They took an x-ray, and 4 doctors said it was broken. However, when the X-Rays came back, it was not. They think the bone might of slipped out of its socket, but I have to go back on Monday.

I have a splint and a sling, but the sling annoys me, so I don't
usually have it on.

My arm still aches a lot. And the guy who's responsible for it
feels really guilty, but I don't want him to be.

Ouch... That sounds painful... Well, at least it's not broken. Something kinda like that happened to me once. I was in my uncle's garage (which was wet and muddy), and I slipped and fell right on my right knee. We bought crutches (cheap wooden ones <_<), and we went to my doctor. He thought it was broken, but the bone was just bruised.

Well, it's good to know that you're OK.

I don't think I;ve ever came close or had anything broken.

I actually have broken my arm before, when I was about 5 or 6.

I remeber falling off the climbing frame, and going home to sleep, after taking calpol...

When I woke, my mum looked at my arm, and decided it was best to go to hospital.

Ouch Steven. Reminds me of when I hurt my shoulder in soccer. They thought I dislocated it. It turned out to be just a contusion.

All this sling talk reminds me that I really don't know my first aid- I keep forgetting whether the sling knot goes on the injured side or uninjured side. XP Nevertheless, I do know that you really should keep that sling and splint on, even if it's annoying.

Well, I do keep the splint on... it makes it easier on my arm. The sling I have on when I get tired with holding my arm up. When I watch TV, I usually rest it on the side instead. I'm also still using my hand to type with aswell as my non damaged right hand

My dad knew a guy who was playing cricket and broke his thumb. The medical guy said that it was disloacted and proceeded to jiggle it about to get it back into place, actually pulling the bones apart more and worsening the injury.

Yeah, I know, another one of those stories..

I chipped my wrist once. It hurt.
I'm not really an arm breaker, but I do remember last year when I broke my finger having it moved around by our camp nurse. It was on my good (drawing) hand too, and I was crying pretty hard core.
*shakes head*

I'm glad it's not broken, and you probably should wear the splint. They normally don't give you those things without a reason. *pokes*

Well, at least you just dislocated it. It could be worse. Although robot's story about the breaking and the what-not? When it swells and bruises, it's likely to be broken. That's a good rule of thumb.

And the emergency sling knot goes on the unbroken side. That way, the broken side is kept completely taut and straight.

Oh the pain, the pain of it all!

Is it the same arm you've broken now? I have a friend whos broken the same arm 12 times now, he's been in a cast almost continuously for 3 years. At lest its not that bad. My sympathy.

That sucks. At least you didn't break it, and if it's dislocated they'll pop it back in...Although, that tends to really hurt. My cousin dislocates her shoulder pratically every month. She dislocated it while diving at a lake 2 weeks ago. She put in back in, but she was practically crying.
