I can't remember, but that isn't an option so I put no. :P

It's odd that I don't remember dieing -- most of my dreams feature me going against countless odds against some evil wizard or such and the magic I use doesn't work on them, but the magic they use works on me. ;_; So I -should- die, but I never do. The fact that my mom usually wakes me up in the middle of the battle is probably the cause of that. :P

Once, I was being chased by Hitler... and he wanted to kill me, however I kept getting away from him by hiding behind random boxes that appeared out of nowhere or acting as a member of the army he always had around him. o_o;;

I don't think so. But I don't remember most of my dreams - so it's entirely possible.

No, I haven't

But I've seen other things and other people die in my dreams... it's really depressing and I wake up almost crying

I've come close to dying, but it's never actually happened. I usually wake up before I bite the dust.

Nah, but uh... Katharine McPhee has.

I had a really creepy dream a few weeks ago that was similar to that. I was in a boat with some other people, and we were trying to get away from this big gigantic thingie, and we knew if it touched us, bad things would happen, but we didn't know what. Then I stopped and let it get me (it would take a bit to explain why; it's a complicated part of my mind), and the weird thing got me, and it was kind of like I got sucked into a small room, and we had to watch some aliens blowing up the earth. (That part tells me something else about myself...:P)

I had a dream where I died before. :/

A couple years ago I was obssessed with looking up dream interpretations and such and I read that dying in your dreams is supposed to symbolize something in your life/ a part of you that has changed. :/

I didn't die but I had to contemplate death in a dream.

I was in a building that was going to catch on fire. I could have left, but I had to stay and look after some small children (a kindergarten class), so that I could help them escape once the fire started. I went through a personal struggle because I just wanted to run, but I had a reponsibility to the children. This was pretty scary because it wasn't one of those dreams where part of you knows it isn't real. Then I came to a realization that the important thing was to do my duty, whether I lived or died. Once I made the decision to stay, I woke up.

Don't ask my why we didn't all just leave the building before the fire started. That would have been the sensible thing to do, and it's the first thing I thought of upon waking up. I suppose it was my subconscious mind making up some complex symbolism.

Ive become undead in dreams. I get bitten and changed into a vampire a lot for some reason. There are also times when undead creatures kill me, but Im not really myself when it happens. Its more like watching it on tv from above. Same with the dreams where Im like...a member of an outnumbered resistance organization and have to pilot junkyard shuttlecrafts on near-suicide missions to hurt the enemy.

There was also one really strange dream where I was at a hotel swimming pool, and someone stabbed me in the stomach and left. Nobody else was around, and there was so much blood, so I just laid there hoping someone would find me. All of a sudden, I was wearing a trenchcoat and the bleeding stopped, but somehow I knew my insides were damaged, and I'd still die. It was ridiculously depressing.

Personally, Id like to know where that 'you dont feel pain in dreams' lie came from. I know that I certainly feel pain. Ive gotten bitten by snakes, stabbed countless times, touched hot burners, and it hurts! Really bad! The time my eyes fell out was the worst. They were like that Asian girl's eye in Hostel. At least I think it was Hostel.

Do you feel the pain, or do you just know it's happening? When I have dreams involving pain, I don't feel the pain. In fact, the dreams often go like this:

*painful thing happens*
Me: "Why didn't that hurt?"

I don't remember that many specific examples, but there was one dream where I was jumping off a platform onto a wooden floor, knees first (I think I was at a sleepover and the other girls were doing it.) And then there was one dream where someone cut off my hand. (Hmm, now where did that come from?) And I didn't feel anything those times, even though my subconscious knew I should've.

However, I think I do feel certain things. When I have dreams about falling, I think I feel a very slight version of that horrible feeling I get when I'm on an amusement park ride. Not significantly, though. Not enough to actually hurt. And I felt cold in the dream I told about in my other post.

Sometimes I have dreams about drowning...I'm underwater (usually in a swimming pool), and for some reason, I can't get back up. Then I can't hold my breath any longer, and I take a huge breath...and it turns out I can breathe underwater. :P

My dad thinks I might have those dreams when my face is pressed against the pillow, and then when I take the breath, it's me turning my head and gasping outside of the dream, and since I don't sleep underwater (no, really?), my lungs fill with air, which is echoed in my dream.

So yeah, external factors affect my dreams, I guess. It works the other way around too. Sometimes I make a defined movement in my dream (example: actually moving my legs instead of just drifting), and it causes me to twitch in real life. One time, I dreamed that I was trying to see something, and I realized my eyes were closed, and I opened them, and my eyes snapped open in real life. End of dream. :P

I guess that's what happens when people talk in their sleep. I've talked in my sleep twice in my whole life. One time, at least eight years ago, I woke up saying "I want to tell her something", and the other time, maybe a few weeks ago, it was "I need to tell her". (Wow, that's really coincidental. O_o)

Long post. :)

I have pain sometimes in my dreams. It's never extreme, but I do hurt. Pain is sometimes just mental anyway--like when you look down and realize you've gotten a cut on your finger, and then it starts to hurt, but it didn't before you knew it was there.

I have drowning dreams on occasion too, but I always wake up before I drown, because I'm actually holding my breath physically and that wakes me up.

I think I did once, but then I left my body and the body on the ground was a crash dummy.

Not in my memory. I have had dreams where my boyfriend dies, though. x_x

Thu Jan 04, 2007 3:14 am

A lot of times. There was this period when I kept having the same dream night after night, and in each of them I'd die.

...*blink*

I had a dream a few years ago that I drank poison and died, then I sort of came back to life and had a chance to re-do the whole day again and try stay alive. I died again.
