I wish TNT would just pick a point system for battledome points and stick with it, so you can anticipate and choose the right strategie.

We don't really know what this "win limit" is though. For all we know it could be that because you maxed out that opponent you'll get extra points for that. For all we know, it might not have any effect on your final scores.

Thu Jan 04, 2007 12:39 pm

It definately doesn't mean you maxed out, I got a win limit on the last set of stones and I was nowhere near maxed.

Should have probably fought all 3 sets of stones and trees equally rather than just focussing on the hardest one, ah well you live and learn ;)

Here's what I achieved (as well as my reasons to make it a little more interesting for anyone who wants to read)

I got the bookworm trophy for 18 names marked off and the gopher trophy for 1 potion fetched (I then clicked "test bones" and didn't get to test any so I couldn't get a better score :p)

All steps completed (because I didn't have lunch properly for a month and refused to leave my computer)

Win limit on one opponent from each wave:
Furious stones (unbalanced fighting)
Savage Sycamore (unbalanced fighting)
Herman Dorfdrap (maxed on the others)
Shrieking shadow (maxed on the others)

Loss limit on the mayor (50)

All in all I think I got the right results for the effort I put in.

I know (pretty much) all of us here on the plot boards completed all the steps and got in a couple of battles but I wonder how many of the people who played the plot in total finished... it'd be interesting to see some overall stats.

I think TNT is just trying to find a point system that doesn't overly lean towards one side of the group. I don't mind I don't have Win Limit on all the challengers or that I could have got a few more Potions or Bones tested. Not only that but all the plots so far have all been centered around one thing Battles or Puzzles. Anyways, TNT are always sneaky to begin with.

They spent so much time on the steps of the plot, but when it came to the battledome the opponents came and went before I could attack them all. Neopets was so slow I couldn't do anything.

The only step I didn't do was the madness with potions part. Too brain tearing for me! Looks like the 5 trophys look the same for everyone though

If i would have known there were win limits I would have battled much more all around. It dissapoints me tha many people have the potential to do very well in the plot and are punished because they didn't know what TNT intended when TNT never even told us what to do. Its also a guessing game.

This is what happened with me. I wanted to beat the stronger opponents figuring they were worth more points. I could have easily beaten the weaker ones to the win limit if I had known how they were counting the battledome portion.

I did quite well on this plot, I think. Not as well as some others, but okay.

I completed all steps except fighting. I only fought the mayor and all of the stones. :D

I *heart* the names they've given the trophy stats, though. :P

Same exact thing happened with me.
I completed every other step of the plot, but only got to fight once in the battledome because the site was moving so slow!
At least I won the only battle I was in..

Ok, I did all the same steps as you and I too, have it say "Completed Steps". So, what am I missing here? Which step did we miss that it doesn't say "Completed All Steps"?!!

If they are saying I didn't complete the whole plot because I didn't fight the townspeople or shadows, when the lowest one had hitpoints two times higher than my highest pet.... and I couldn't even defeat the highest tree... that is crazy talk!

I did all the plot steps. I participated in the fighting of individual enemies. I participated in the Mayor fighting (which was SUPPOSED to be futile, unlike fighting townspeople and shadows)... I don't think I should be docked for not having the money to level my pet up to level one zillion, or for not fighting enemies that there was not a snowball's chance in the lost desert that I could win against.

If that's what they're counting as not doing all the steps, I am seriously peeved.

Ok, here's a little summary I did for your viewing pleasure. I gather some activities are worth more points, since it takes more to rise to another "rank". I'm not too displeased with my stats, I did everything at least once and maxed 3 opponents and the mayor. What bugs me is that they didn't tell us beforehand, or I could have done more. I hope this time I'll be able to get one of the best prizes, though, if I can't because of my low b/d score I'm going to be angry :P

Players with stronger pets who fought alot must be really bummed now. Some players fought opponents hundreds of times. With the lag it must have taken a lot of time to fight the opponents so many times.

I don't have a strong battle pet, but I know it takes sooo much time earning enough np to get a good battledome pet. The only time you can get a reward from it is during plots and DoN. And this time good battledomers didn't even have any advantage over lower leveled pet.

I can understand tnt had to put some sort of limit, but the limit was rather low. With my 85 boost pets I reached the win limit for all but 3 opponents, of wich 2 I couldn't reach because I didn't have enough time to max those out.

It would have been alot more fair if TNT would have let people know before hand, or just wouldn't let you be able to fight anymore after you reached the win limit. I mean, they could have known that people with good battledome pets would fight the opponents so many times and get really high scores. Just think of how many hours some people wasted fighting hundreds or even thousands of times. I kinda feel sorry for those people.

What's the advantage having a strong pet nowadays?

Thu Jan 04, 2007 5:29 pm

I didn't realize I could have skipped the rest of the potions and done the Madness in General (which is what some people said they did). I knew the potions were going to take me hours, and I didn't even try to skip them. It seems like the asylum would have been much quicker. I just assumed it was like Altador and I couldn't do the next step until I finished the previous step. Live and learn, I guess. (Or did people who didn't finish the potions also not do the asylum?)

I'm lousy at battle-doming. I gave it a try though.. did my best. :)

Oh and Sterl, hope you don't mind, but I'd like to take a moment to gush about how fantastic the following is; your user lookup, your gallery lookup, the name of your Shop (I'm a huge Saks fan, never actually been IN one, but when I was in New York, I HAD to go and see it), and your gallery items in general. Sorry, but it caught my eye, and I thought i'd let you know it all looks great :P

Aww thanks for the lovely compliments :)
I saw the one in New York too! Pretty cool building I must say!

Anyway, back on topic. Very nice stats everyone. I'm amazed at all of the digging o.0. I'm wondering how much the battledome part will contribute to your total score.
