I've been seeing boards on the neoboards saying that someone is taking advantage of the fact that TNT is on vaction to put some duped items out. Be careful when shopping and I wouldn't go to people's shops I didn't know or buy something that was too cheap to be true. Also, don't buy dung or 1np items, because from what I heard they are getting smart and duping cheap stuff like jelly and dung and berries and omelettes and stuff.

Well it could just be a rumor or someone trying to get people to panic. But well..this is neopets and this sort of stuff does happen. You can't be too careful, especially with TNT away and unble to do anything about it. I wouldn't do anything important in case they just decide to do a rollback instead of a mass freezing. They should just rollback because most people would be innocent if they simply bought a berry or something for one np and that didn't look suspicious.

Why would anybody bother duping low cost items ?

Yeah that is the point. Not to make money, but to make something that usually costs 1np anyway and dupe it a lot and then people buy it and get frozen. But TNT shouldn't freeze people for it, but do a rollback or something else I hope. I wouldn't be doing anything inportant for a few days just in case.

I didn't know items could still be duped. I thought they fixed that bug.

Apparently they fixed one exploit, but not all of them.

Apologies for bringing this up again... but is the duping issue resolved? What about the 'fake' items from the TP that was getting users frozen? Is it safe(r) to use the TP and/or shops again?

satiran, I do believe that these vulnerabilities were fixed. A few weeks ago, avatarlog's front page reported that they were. And I haven't seen or heard anything about them since.

It seems to me that TNT shouldn't even freeze accounts over this. They bought a 1 NP item that was duped. So what? That has no impact at all, on anything. If TNT suspects someone has an item that was duped, no matter what the cost, they should send them a Neomail and delete it.
