If you take all 200 Lenny Conundrum questions over the years, the thirteen most common words used are as follows: "the", "of", "a", "to", "and", "in", "is", "he", "you", "that", "was", "on", and "it".

What is the fourteenth most common word used in Lenny Conundrum questions? Please submit only the one-word answer, without any spaces or punctuation. Any submission that is more than a one-word answer will be disqualified!

....this is scary...

Though by "question", I believe that it meant the whole passage, rather than just the sentence with the question mark...and to leave the graphics/codes as it is, without deciphering them into words...

at least, in this way, I've managed to get the 1st 13 words right....
as in

1249"the"
458 "of"
444 "a"
390 "to"
381 "and"
289 "in"
244 "is"
197 "he"
180 "you"
166 "that"
149 "was"
139 "on"
137 "it"

...there should be errors though...as I was doing it in the old fashioned way, that is to copy and paste it to a .txt, and then designing a program to do the sorting and word seperation......

makes one wonder whether its possible to solve this without using any programs... :P

Hope I'd be right ....my 14th word only appeared once more than
the 15th word...

I looked up a list of the most commonly used words in the English language and crossed off the words from the list given. The top 13 on the Neopets list were pretty much the same as the full list but in a slightly different order. Then I looked at the next most common words and picked the one blatantly most likely to be seen in a question. I just hope that the actual answer isn't a Neopets word or a name as I sent it in less than five mins of it being put up and stand a great chance of picking up the prize (if im correct of course!).

The answer isn't a Neopets word...as according to what I've got, the first neopet name is "lenny" on the 46th place, with 51 appearances. Even if I've skewed up in some part of collecting the data, it still isn't likely to be "lenny".

Is the answer you have in the top 20 of the list in that link?

I doubt it is possible to do this without a program considering there were almost 17000 words in all 200 lenny conundrums. Though i won't get the right answer because i typed the word in wrong and forgot to check :x .

I have a feeling that I didn't get the answer right. If for some reason one of you guys gets it and wants to sell your LC prize, I want to buy one for my Lenny gallery. I have some decent BD weapons I could trade for it or cash NP, depending on how much they are trading for after the contest ends.

I'm pretty sure I'm right, and if I am, you probably are too -- I got the same numbers (and my top 13 match with Neo's exactly, so I'm pretty confident). I answered almost an hour after the LC came out (took a long time to compile all 200 LCs, heh), so I hope I was fast enough for the prize. :)

I have to wonder why they let the game go an extra week though - maybe they didn't have 250 correct answers?

They definitely had over 250 correct answers, because I submitted an hour after it came out, got it right, and still was too late for the prize. I wonder if people guessed, or if they were just really fast at compiling all those LCs. I wanted that prize. :(

Oh well. The answer was "what." It appeared 111 times. "How" was next with 110 times.

Wow, Cranberry, you actually figured out the answer and didn't guess at it? I am impressed. I guessed. Wrong, naturally (I went with "or")I didn't think about it being one of the 5 question words (who, what, when, where, why) but it makes such sense now. Duh! Oh well, congrats to those of you who got it correct.

Heh, I just guessed (well, it was an educated guess, but a guess nonetheless) and got it right. *hitches up pants* Yep, won me a big ol' 170 NP!!

Like Cranberry, I entered my answer very quickly after the Lenny came out and still didn't win a prize, so there was clearly no reason for them to have let it go on an extra week, except that they are so very very busy making new Fun Images for the news each day.

I somehow got it right and I just made a guess of it. I don't even remember what I put. I was like "I won? Oookkaay."

Wasn't it?
