No new shields last year

Speaking of shields, are the replacement shields on ppt still usable? And are they accepting new requests? Because I sent an email, oh, 6 months ago or so asking about making a new request in that section of ppt and, no response.

I think instead of starting anything new, for a few months, they should just work on old stuff that's not done. Get the shields up to date. Maybe even make a few ahead! o.O Release items that have been announced, but are still unreleased. Get plot prizes out. Maybe fix spelling errors that seem to be all over the place.

Just maintenance stuff like that, to get everything up to date. It would make people a lot more happy than releasing new stuff. How thrilled would gallery people be to be able to BUY the stuff they've been looking to get since forever? Putting stuff like that in the news would make people a lot more happy than starting new stuff so that we can complain that old stuff still isn't done.

I think you might be underestimating the value of novelty to most Neopians. Yeah, I'd like to see things up to date, but I think I'd get pretty bored if nothing really new showed up on the site for months. Those of us who hang around PPT usually have one or two things that we really wish would just be released already, but I don't think we're really representative of the whole site.

Maybe I'd prefer it if they assigned one person to play catch-up full-time for a few months. It wouldn't be too hard for one person to get those minor little annoyances fixed, and everyone who doesn't really notice those things would still get to have new features.

Honestly I agree that they should take about a month off and just release everything that's been PROMISED. Not a few months, that's too long...
But I think we should write to TNT asking them to simply release our items!

...I honestly think it'd take more than one person, even if that was all they did. I mean, there's furniture items dating all the way back from last October that haven't been released yet. (And a bunch of new furniture that won't display properly, would like to see that fixed sometime soon too.) Still waiting on this little guy, also announced in October:

Yes, it's exciting to see new things, but without actually making them available to players, what's the point? It's getting irritating. "Hey, kids! Here's a nice shiny carrot for you! *dangle dangle* Isn't it cool? Don't you like it? Well, we made it just for you, so go ahead and...oh, whoops! Wait, we lied. It's not actually ready yet. Our bad!" I can take that one or two, maybe three times in a row. But multiple times??

I understand the staff is only human, and sometimes there might be delays that keep things from being released for a few days or even weeks after they're announced in the news, but months?? MONTHS?? That's just unacceptable. And if they keep releasing items at the rate they currently are, and about half of those are "broken" too, then that just adds more and more work for them to catch up on, so it's not good for the staff either.

Personally, I wouldn't mind a month or even two of no new items, if they'd just fix the ones that're already supposed to be there. Or, just a much slower release, making SURE the items are actually available before announcing them so they don't have to be fixed later.

I dunno. I'm just tired of it.

Then there's the MIA list on neoitems.net - some of those items have been on there for years. Doubt they'll ever get released.

Actually, until this year and maybe December, I'd say over 75% of the items announced in the news since Sepetember had not been released. I went through and checked every single page because I was tired of waiting for my Darigan quetzal. I'd check the shop wiz first, then search for them, and then check trades and auctions. Obviously, it's kind of difficult to search without an exact name for each item. They make it even more difficult when things like the dark faerie canopy bed does not come up when you search for bed, but does show up when you search for canopy bed. One or two items going unreleased for a week or two is one thing, but the majority not being released for months is beyond ridiculous.

I wholeheartedly support the idea of laying off the new items for a week or two, perhaps when everyone is distracted by the Haunted Woods plot prizes, to go through and make sure everything that has been announced in the news is actually released. Then, about a week after creating a new item, they should have someone check to make sure it actually exists. At the very least, they should have a bug report form specifically for reporting missing items, petpets, and pet colors from the news. I felt rather pathetic and annoying neomailing one of the programmers a list of missing petpets and items after 3 autoreponses saying that they'd been released.

Yeah, their system kinda confuses me too...I think they list one player BD items...and I'm not sure if we were ever intended to be able to buy those. And I think they also include items that haven't been announced but are on the servers...so I'd guess a high number of...150-175? Definitely over 100 I'd guess, which is rather pathetic on tnt's part.

I was only counting the searchable and unsearchable items I could find using a single space entered to search for partial matches.
