I just read about it on Drudge. This is actually quite shocking and sad at the same time. She was only 39 too.

That's very sad. :( She was still young, too. I read that she was married to Howard Stern? I hadn't even heard about that. I feel bad for her poor daughter.

She was married to A Howard Stern. Her husband was Howard K. Stern, her attorney, not Howard Stern as in the presenter.

God thats so weird, I was just reading an article about her. Really is such a shame to die so young. What did she die off does anyone know?

lol my cousin's a comedian, alot of her jokes (well... alot of her older jokes) were about anna's tv show...
huh. wow, i really feel bad for her daughter though.. :(

I believe her marriage to Howard K Stern wasn't a legal ceremony.

It's all pretty damn tragic, but not surprising. She had a car crash of a life all right.

MSN News says she collapsed in her hotel room.

“When you have sudden, unexpected death, there aren’t too many things that can do that,” said Wecht. “You look to the heart and see what produces the cardiac arrhythmia.”

It has been alleged that Smith used methadone, a powerful opiate-based treatment, while pregnant.

“Drugs could be involved here,” Wecht told MSNBC. “They may not be the total answer, but coupled with a genetic predisposition, methadone is a drug that is known to produce that kind of a problem in which the heart begins to beat irregularly.”

Toxicology results from an autopsy are not expected for several days.
