Setekh and Littleboy please do not continue your personal flaming on this thread or anywhere else on this site. I will not have it on this forum. Personal attacks are not ALLOWED. Is that not clear?

Take a nice good look at our forum rules.

http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2223

Namely...

Quote:
Respect the staff and comply with their wishes

Refusing to comply with the wishes of a staff member will generally result in a permanent ban. There is simply no excuse for this behaviour. If you feel the judgement against you is injust, you should comply anyway, and then send a formal complaint to an Administrator ( Yup, its another one of those clicky names).

No Flaming

"Flaming", is when somebody attacks somebody else over the internet, normally in the form of insults. This will not be tolerated. You do not have to agree with every other member of PPT ( And you wont at some point. Believe me). You do not have to like every other member at PPT. You do, however, have to respect every other member of PPT. And when I say respect, I mean respect their right to have their say just as you have the right to yours. If at any point you think what a member is saying may be out of line, you should contact a Moderator and have them look into it for you. If somebody flames you, do NOT retaliate. You will end up in as much trouble as them. Just contact a Moderator. Its their job to deal with members breaking these rules, remember? Flaming is also outlawed through the Personal Message system. You may argue a little more heatedly in private, but be sure to never insult another member.

If I have to post again on this thread it will be to lock it.

My bad, sorry; it won't happen again.

Well that's how it's always been. I've seen users purposely evade the swear filter and did not even receive a WARNING while the 'victims' that these insults were thrown at received either warnings or were iced. TNT has always been like this and I try to steer clear from the Neoboards.

It hasn't always been that way- when I first registered at Neopets (1999; not long after the site went live) It was pretty awesome. Things only started getting a little sticky after Adam sold Neopets to some company; at least that's what I believe happened, right?

I cannot decide whether it's TNT managing the forums incorrectly, or whether the majority of the users who post there are morons.
I'm starting to think it's moreso the second option than the first.

I also see a lot of these 'rate my sexi pics' kind of posts- The only recommendation I can say, is that Neopets should IP ban more often.
I could have easily created another account whilst this one was suspended; as it was not an IP-based suspension.

They ban by Email Addresses, I believe.

Huh???? Your argument makes no sense. As a married person for over 15 years now, you cannot assume that I am thinking about doing "it" with my husband just because I make the statement "My husband went to get groceries" or "My husband is home sick today." Just because I have a mate and happen to mention him on Neopets does not mean that sex is continually on my mind nor that I should be frozen for it.

I thought I made my sarcasm clear in that paragraph, but I guess not. For the record: it was sarcasm, and that was exactly the point I was trying to make. ;p

Then you didn't do a very good job. ;) Yes, it would be ridiculous to freeze someone for saying "my husband bought groceries today." No, it is not ridiculous to freeze people for having arguments related to sexual orientation. The first is not against the rules; the second clearly is.

I figured the beginning "For example:" and the ending "See how ridiculous that was?" was sufficient enough....

The guy doesn't even mention arguing, just throwing a fact out there. As far as I'm understanding it, the board went something like:

1. "Gay people suck!"
2. "Homos are gross!"
3. "I'm bi and have a right to be so."
4. "Kill the queer!"

TNT response:
1. Inappropriate subject discussed, personal attack on others: Warning
2. Inappropriate subject discussed, personal attack on others: Warning
3. Inappropriate subject discussed: FROZEN!
4.Inappropriate subject discussed, personal attack on others: Warning

Maybe they were all in the wrong, simply by the subject discussed, but why do the users who both discuss an "inappropriate" subject AND personally attact another player get warnings, when the one who's only guilty on the first offense get frozen?

Either way: Don't go on the Neoboards unless you want help on something Neo-related. It can't be said enough.

There's no "maybe" about it. TNT has said many times that if you see a board that's against the rules (and "gay people suck" certainly qualifies), you should not post on it. If you do, you can be warned or frozen. No one should be surprised that happened here.

As for what the other people deserved: that's up to TNT, and if they're that bad, I'm sure they will get frozen sooner rather than later.

I honestly missed the sarcasm in there, MetalMario. Sometimes it is hard to get a person's emotion and intent from their written words. I reread it, this time with my sarcastic hat on, and I do see what you were attempting to say. I was sort of hoping you didn't want to freeze me just cause I had snagged a husband. Hehe. ;)
