Most likely, since when I received a 30% shield Typhoon told me something along the lines of "you're lucky you're the only one in it" or something.

Mmm, yeah. I'm pretty sure that if there's more than one person in the room, only one person's gonna be getting some superpower.

Perhaps the reward changes from room to room each night?

Something Has Happened!
Ric was sitting in a chair in the Sunset Room, reading, when all of a sudden he heard a series of clicks behind him.
"What-"
That was as far as he got before sharp pencils of all sizes were shot in his direction. Many of them clanged off his shield... but unluckily for him, his shield wasn't strong enough to take them all. Three of them pierced his chest, and he fell out of the chair, dead, bleeding all over the book he'd been reading.
A bit later, Typhoon was watching TV in the Cerulean Room when a scream pierced the air. It was coming from the Sunset Room. He rushed over to find a mute Mayanspypilot, pointing shakily at Ric's dead body. As Typhoon watched, the form changed to become a beautiful blonde princess in a gown that changed from rose, to blue, to green, and back to rose again.
"A terrible loss for the innocents... Ric was Princess Aurora, who could dream of evil that used physical means to do their dirty work."
Summary:
Ric has been stabbed with pencils. He was Princess Aurora.

Tested has survived multiple attacks; I think he's somewhere up to 4 now? Even if they were room effects, he's been darn lucky.

"Nothing. Nothing at all. Go back to your book."
"Okay."

Ric has been resurrected. He may or may not have protection.
