oh and something disney is coming out with a third movie when i was like "there was a second one??? 0.o"
cinderella i think.

I thought the same thing when I saw a billboard for it.

I could also swear that I saw a commercial for a new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie. I had no idea that they were still around.

Except just like the batman and supermans movies, they cant call it "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"... they call the movie "TMNT".... the guy even says "Tee Em En Tee, this july" or whtaever the month is...

Wow, this neopets movie looks dorkalicious. I cant wait to not see it.

Man, we have no plot, no character designs, nothing but the name and everyone is already heaping vitriol on it. I come here to escape the rampant negativity like you see on the neoboards, or at least I used to.

-_-

*Eye-twitch* Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! To the infinity-eth power!

There are hundreds of reasons why this is bad! But I'll just name a few:

1) The n---s are going to take over the boards! It's already starting, since they're putting commercials for the Daily Dare on T.V! Oh, and AAA sounds weird by the way.*Shudders*

2) We can excpect a silly plot that is too predictable, will go straight to DVD, will be CGI(which I can already imagine, it will look weird! Ahhhhhhh!), and will basically make TNT try and suck up more money from us because they lost a giant wad of it making less money than the movie cost to make!

3) It will use an overused plot pet such as a lupe, aisha, or kougra obviously. Poor reptilian pets never got a chance. :(

Someone was talking about the Land Before Time a bit ago.

They're making another one -_-.

It will be safe to say that I won't be seeing this movie. I dispise the Neopets staff.

Ugh, I was thinking about this too...if TNT releases a movie I can only imagine how new player centered neopets will be. We'll never get our shields updated and faerie pbs will be added to the newbie packs.

People said the exact same thing about the Happy Meals with Neopet toys in. A small spike of less than experienced players, that quickly tapers off once the event is over is what you should really expect, not the end of the world. Everyone was new once anyway, but people want to go on and believe that we're living in an age of iron.

There were TV commercials for the Altador Cup as well, none of them brought about the decline of Neo civilization either.

You go on to predict that neo will loose money and try to squeeze it out of us, but you obviously underestimate the cash producing power of an animated kids movie. If a shamefully bad, genericly animated movie like Barnyard can pull a worldwide gross of $106 million in theaters, I think a movie with a pre-existing fandom might be able to break even.

If it ends up being direct to video, that's still a lucrative market. I used to work in an electronics store that sold high volumes of kids movies. Direct to dvd CGI movies do very well. Look at Bionicle, Barbie, you name it.

Edit: *snip* The director is John Davis, so I see on los Intarwebs. Director of Jimmy Neutron.

Untill then, it's just a bunch of people proclaiming that the sky is falling. -_- It really, really gets old.

Sorry it's off-topic, but there were TV ads for the Altador Cup?? I never saw them, though that's probably because I don't watch much TV anymore anyway. Still, my interest is piqued...don't suppose there's a place online to see them? (A Youtube search isn't bringing up anything.)

Well, I really hope your right, but I'm a pessimist by nature. ;) It's not new players in general that I'm apposed to, new people in a community are great, new blood is necessary for a game or community of any type to survive. It's a huge surge of little kids that I don't like.

Maybe I shouldn't be so apposed to little kids considering I play a game centered around cute cartoon animals, but I can't help it, I am. I like cute kid-like things, just not dumbed down things.
