There is this frog in our backyard by my mom's pond that keeps croaking and it was very annoying about 2 months ago. Now, the same one is back, and this time he has two more friends, who also croak. You can hear them practically across the street they're so loud.

So, do you have any tips on catching them. The last thing I want to do is shoot them with my BB gun. x_X

Simply grab it with your hands really fast before it gets away, thats what I do when I catch toads hopping around in my yard, or a net which is the best way to get them.

Yes, Articfox is right you just have to quickly grab them and then you can take them to a nearby park or whatever. What I would suggest though is move slowly (so you don't startle them) until you're in the best position to grab them from. We had this little frog sitting on our doorstep one day just looking at the frontdoor, my Dad had to pick it up and take it to the bushland up the road! Umm... just be warned (so you don't get startled when it happens) sometimes the frogs will start-up the croaking when you grab them almost like they're in distress so be ready for that.

Also, if you manage to grab it I suggest holding it with your thumb and pointer finger under the frog's front arms with it's back facing you. As most frogs/toads 'spray' when you pick them up.

Hmm, I've never known a frog to spray on me, even though I know sometimes some can sucrete poison from there skin, so always wash your hands after you handle them of coarse.

I wonder what sort of frog it is. Dragonfire do you know what type it is? Nonetheless, I think its a good idea to wash your hands after handling any type of creature!

Go out at night when they croak and shine a light (their little eyes will sparkle or glow) then if you get one in the light you might be able to get it. Maybe a light in their eyes will make them disoriented enough to get it.
If you can't do that and are really desparate, try to record the frogs then play the recording back to them. Maybe they will follow the new voices and go away.

People disdain at using a large net on animals, just because it's been cliched by cartoons, it doesn't mean it doesn't work. Get large net on a pole, scoop him up, forcible relocation.

If you succeed in catching them, do NOT close them inside your hand. You can hold them anyway that's easy for you besides that (as long as you don't squeeze the frog or anything), but just don't close them inside your hand. They'll suffocate. It's been proven.

I would suggest using a fish net (unless for some odd reason there is dolphins in your pond) and just scooping them up and relocating them to a new pond. Please don't just dump them in a grassy area with no water- frogs need a good amount of water to survive.

Well, the frogs aren't actually in the pond, they sit on the bricks surrounding it. I can definitely put them in a place with water because there's a creek near my house.

If you read her first post, you'd know that they're getting pretty noisy.

I would also suggest using a net of some type. If you can't get them to another location with water right away, have a small bucket full of it or something similar to put them in.

shoot em. That way, those frogs will never come back, then all the other frogs know not to mess with you. Just make sure none of the police are around...and that the frogs arent indangered. Or you could miss and then scare them off

Are you suggesting to kill innocent frogs just for making noise?

That's just cruel. Animals are living, breathing things. Would you like to be shot for being chatty? :x

Just a note.. Don't use a net. Their legs will get caught and break. Trust me on that. If the nets too small, they get tangled, if the nets too big they slip through.
Use your hand. Just don't do the diving through the mud thing where you go facefirst into the mud after a dive to get a frog and end up with a mouth full of weeds.
