Live Earth is a organization of numerous concerts around the world in all seven continents promoting the environment and raising awareness of global warming.

Quote:
Live Earth” Concerts in All 7 Continents to Reach Global Audience of Over 2 Billion

Los Angeles, CA – Detailing a historic effort to engage billions of people across the globe, Kevin Wall, Al Gore, Pharrell Williams, Maná, Cameron Diaz, and the MSN Network today launched Save Our Selves (SOS) – The Campaign for a Climate in Crisis. The announcement was made at the California Science Center.

SOS is designed to trigger a global movement to combat our climate crisis. It will reach people in every corner of the planet through television, film, radio, the Internet and Live Earth, a 24-hour concert on 7/7/07 across all 7 continents that will bring together more than 100 of the world’s top musical acts. Live Earth alone will engage an audience of more than 2 billion people through concert attendance and broadcasts. MSN has partnered with SOS to use its reach to make the Live Earth concerts available across the globe. The Live Earth audience, and the proceeds from the concerts, will create the foundation for a new, multi-year global effort to combat the climate crisis led by The Alliance for Climate Protection and its Chair, Vice President Al Gore. SOS was founded by Kevin Wall, who won an Emmy as Worldwide Executive Producer of Live 8.

I, personally, cannot wait for it; I find it amazing that raising awareness for global warming has been so downplayed and I'm proud to say it's finally getting the attention it needs.

I'm all for this, what do you guys think?

That sounds cool.
I don't think it's a smart move to have a concert on Antartica, though...especially in July.

Lol, who is going to go to the Antartica one? XD

I thought Live 8 was a great idea, so this obviously is too.

Yay people who care!

Stop moaning, someone was going to say it sooner or later. xD

This is a great idea, I'm definitely going to watch it.

XDDDD

I meant more of people to actually watch it ,lol!

On that note though, I would surely not send the Red Hot Chili Peppers or Hot Hot Heat. The Flaming Lips also a no go.

Yeah. Then we'd find out that they're the cause of global warming, rather than Kym. XD

Are you serious?

I might watch it on TV, but it won't make me care about global warming. And I'll always have the mute button on my remote by my side in case any of them start giving speeches.

Also, I find it ironic that in order to get to Antarctica/Shanghai/Ho Chi Minh City/whatever the musicians will be flying in private jets and probably riding around in limos to the events. Shouldn't they be riding their bikes to the concerts? :P

Anyway, when the hell did Sydney and London become continents?
Oceania and Europe. Yes.

Lol. Am I the only one who thought of Futurama when I saw that? Reminds me of that episode Crimes of the Hot I saw a couple days ago, probably one of my favorite episodes.

Go here for a message from Al Gore and Bender from Futurama

Yeah, but you're not a super-obsessive fan who thinks "Dude, [name of band] thinks global warming is a big problem and I love them with every fiber of my being, so I'm going to become involved!" Those people do exist.
