I can't see a small sub section of users wholly affecting the nature of such a large online "universe" as neo so I say let the people who want to morph pets into green unis get on with it.

I would, however, find a rival group painting them red absolutely hilarious.

I am quite offended by this use of real world events and groups to such a trivial thing. I am also surprised that we were told off for merely creating a fictional group called DJRP for a laugh which could have offended no one, and this is still here.

This is a fantasy game. Neopets aren't real and therefore will not be affected by all becoming Green Unis. Do not bring race issues into the fantasy. I come here to have fun, not to be made to feel like a racist because I find one species or colour of neopet ugly.

Also the neopian economy is as safe as it was before. Do you honestly think a few green uni morphing potions are going to change anything?



I can't see how us wanting to show our desire to relax and leave it be is any worse than the names and assumptions being aimed at GUPers and the people who agree with them.

You specifically told us that we were being "utterly disrespectful". I fail to see how. Although I consider many posts here to be quite clearly disrespectful and yet these are passed of as mere whining. When it's clear they are going much further. Not to mention one comparing the whole thing to Nazism.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to close this thread. Since it's clear this is a one sided debate.

In my opinion, those people have the right to do what they want. You can't force them to do or to not do anything. If you don't like it, contact one of their "members". But it's just a game, and if you don't like it, leave.

I could start painting the poor Green Unis to a nice color like yellow. And a yellow PB is only 36k!

Or you could even use turnip tonics, those things are CHEAP!

But on the topic, there seems to be a lot of rival groups (GUP, PGU, and others) What is the big deal? I only see one or two Green Unis in the pound. The new or painted pets easily outweigh them.

I honestly don't see anything wrong with the GUP...Neopets is just a game. Because it is only a game, comparing it to Nazism is way too far.

I have to agree on that point. Sometimes we take it too far.

I DON'T have a problem with the actual act of turning pound pets into Green Unis. Seriously, if that makes you happy, have a ball. I have a problem with the attitude behind it. The majority of these people are doing this because they believe people who deliberately search for (or even have the luck to happen upon) a painted pet in the pound don't deserve it. So they're altering these pets to make sure no one else can have them. It isn't about the green uni itself, that's just a conveniently cheap potion. I think they're being rude and petty and THAT'S what I disagree with.

However, I'm really tired of repeating myself, so I'm stepping back from this debate. Ciao.

At first I was annoyed because I thought the whole "holier than thou" attitude of making sure no one who didn't deserve a painted or LE pet got one was stupid, mean, and taking the game way too seriously.

But now, I really think it's just silly and a bit funny, especially considering all the controversy and heated discussion that it's caused.

But I find the rival movement of zapping green unis hilarious. Once I get my lab map, if I ever am in need of a lab rat and go searching the pound, I might keep an eye out for a green uni.

But that's all the thought and concern I'm going to give it.
