Chris S. should be eliminated if Sanjaya doesn't leave; he seems to think he's some gift to music (Re-arranging the melody on his performances, singing in different tones, etc...). I honestly think he needs to be eliminated to get a serious reality check.

For me it's Melinda Dolittle as the winner and Jordin Sparks as the runner up.

As usual, Haley and Sanjaya were atrocious. Chris has gone so far downhill that it breaks my heart. He's an awesome guy but he needs to start actually singing the songs he's picked!

Jordin is growing on me, but she's still not in the same league as Melinda and LaKisha. Federlake needs to leave immediately or they should sic a bald Britney on him.

And Phil just creeps me out. A lot.

Ok, it's not on yet here but I usually spoil myself because I don't like the results shows. I am quite upset at the results and I have to say:

Worst. Season. EVER.

I don't know if I can keep watching this, the show is losing what little credibility it had left.

Blah blah, predictable elimination, blah blah.

The hair is normally bad, Sanjaya, but that... words do not describe that.

I predict Sanjaya will win.

Oh, and Al Gore is going to win the election by a landslide.

The one thing I'm hoping is that Chris S.'s band (Half Past Forever) will score some sort of record deal. It's waaaaaay too early in the competition for him to score a record deal, unless maybe Edwin McCain will try to get him signed to his label (Edwin McCain's originally from Greenville as well)

What upsets me about the 'vote for the worst' thing, is that it is totally not what the competition is about. You're supposed to be voting for who YOU think to be the best, not the worst. The best, the most deserving, the elite in the group.
I dunno. The whole Vote for the Worst campaign irritates me and I sincerely hope that it doesn't cause the downfall of AI. If Sanjaya makes it to final 3, I don't think i'll ever watch the show again (not even the all too amusing audtions).

Vote for the Worst is Anti-Idol. I don't think they care about the premises of the show.
But, I guarantee that Sanjaya will atleast make it into the top five before VftW gives up.

Yeah, I find the "Vote for the Worst" deal infantile. You're not cool because you force shows to because laughable to get your own jollies. If you're not going to vote seriously, you shouldn't be voting at all.

People, "Vote For The Worst" is a site which shows how stupid "American Idol" really is. Think about it, record companies have become so desperate to market new artists that in turn, they made a show like "American Idol" to guaruntee sales (At least for debut albums and singles).

The people at VFTW don't care about who's good or not, but they're showing that just because you're allowing the audience to vote doesn't mean the show is genius or the contestants for that matter (Taylor Hicks for example). It's merely a "Hey, you let the audience vote and they chose someone crappy, now what are you going to do about it?".

Personally, I would not like Sanjaya to win anything, ever and I'll be upset if he wins American Idol but getting angry at VFTW is pointless because they don't even care about the show.

Did I ever say I was angry Ammer? Just irritated and irked. Which i'm definately allowed to be (as is anyone else on these forums). It's just annoying when people feel the need (like Kuje said) to be so infantile about the show.

And if the show is so stupid why is it so succesful this many seasons on? Survivor and Big Brother and all those others are losing viewership on a continual basis. Considering the numbers posted about how many people watch AI, do you really think it is stupid?

You're allowed to be annoyed, hands down, but I just said it's not going to change the goal of VFTW.

Personally, I think AI is a brilliant show to raise sales for various artists. Do I think the show is stupid? At times I think it is. When you have people like Sanjaya and Taylor Hicks getting as far as they did in the competition, you have to question how "good" this competition is. Also, with the sudden disappearance of past winners and contestants (With the exception of Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry), you'd have to think, is this competition pointless? Could you win an entire season of American Idol or become a runner up and not achieve anything?

For me, American Idol is a brilliant marketing gimmick, but it discourages me when people like Sanjaya and Taylor are in the show and are making it as far as they have.

FYI, Survivor is losing numbers but the past Big Brother season did have a boost in ratings, it actually even had on one occasion the highest rated episode for its entire running. And it did beat a lot of shows in its timeslots from time to time. But I see your point.

And to end, Inrun, just because the show is successful doesn't mean it's not stupid. The same argument can be used for Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" or rap music, are they suddenly amazing because they've achieved a record number of sales?

I think that AI is really good as well, because it helps people who are extremely talented get noticed. I mean, look at all Idol has produced. You have Kelly Clarkson, who's big in the top forty and mainstream, Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler are big in country (in fact, me and my mom were watching CMT and we saw a Kellie video, and then Carrie. XD), plus Kellie was also a correspondant for Jay Leno for a while.

Fantasia and Ruben Studdard are in the the R&B and Gospel Markets, Clay Aiken's big in soft rock and sometimes Christian AC, Diana DeGarmo is off doing musicals, Chris Daughtry (so Dawn doesn't murder me) is also big in the top forty and mainstream market, but he's also being played on a lot of new rock stations...and Taylor Hicks...I got no clue about what he's doing. I've heard him in McDonalds, though.

Tamyra Gray's a song writer, Jennifer Hudson's an actress, and the most hairbrained of them all...Kimberly Locke is a model for Lane Bryant (go figure!).

The only thing that I dislike about Idol is the fact it's becoming so commercialized. The state of South Carolina has an American Idol sponsored lottery game (don't bother coming down here -- our lottery sucks), and dare I forget about American Idol ICE CREAM? XD

And as for Sanjaya and Taylor not having "talent"...it's not that they don't have talent, but they need to show it off. Sanjaya can sing...for the most part. He just needs to pick songs that showcases his voice to it's best potential...and I'm gonna end it here so that way I don't use any What Not to Wear references...

I think it's gonna be Melinda as the winner and Blake as runner up. (I REALLY don't see his appeal though, he's too gimmicky and without the beatboxing he doesn't have much of a voice)

This season is probably the worst ever because everyone is so boring. Sure, Melinda and Lakisha are good but we've had singers like this in the past like Jennifer Hudson and Mandisa. Melinda and Lakisha do the same type of songs every single week too.

I guess my favorite is Jordin now...I don't know.

VFTW has little impact on the votes. Tens of millions of votes are tallied, for one. Plus, they supported Sundance, and is he in the top 12? No...

I understand where they are coming from though. It is just a show, and it is basically just entertainment. The good people will get record contracts anyways. Plus, the judges get rid of good people early on too, so what difference does it make?
