Im stuck between having an avatar collection or creating a gallery, and if i create a gallery what should i base it on, i've come up with:

pink
rainbow
bakery
faerie
Coffee
chocolate

basically things i like, any suggestions?

Why not do both? You could collect avatars and have a gallery. That's what I would do, as there's no way I could choose between the two and both are long-term goals

I agree with May, it's not too hard to sustain both collections. I'd like to think I do both pretty well. As for the type of gallery, I actually like all ideas, though coffee possibly most entices me. A lot of chocolate items are very expensive, so I'd be wary however tempting it is.

Personally, I don't collect avatars because I can only display one at a time. I just collect the ones I think are pretty. My vote would be for gallery.

I should warn you that i'm biased, however. I am a little bitter against unpredictable avatar inflation. In the end, do whatever makes you happy. Neopets is a very individual game.

Avatars are boring! Go for the gallery!

i've thought of doing both but im a horribly bad saver at saving neopoints lol. My problem is i will spend it all on the one thing, and since im on dial up restocking isnt even an option so all my neopoints come from games so its a little slow

If you are deadset on only choosing one or the other, I would pick a gallery. Avatars are fun and everything, but there are only so many you can get and unless you are really dedicated to spending np, you probably won't get on the highscore list. Galleries on the other hand, are more of personal expression of your interest and whatnot. I know that personally, my gallery is much mroe rewarding than collecting avatars. Not saying I don't get excited when I get a new av, but saving up to buy items that I need for my gallery then putting them in and all that..I find that much more exciting.

I was bent on getting new avatars a while ago, got 248 ...realized I'm not going to get much more unless I save up a lot of points and started a gallery. I still have to save up, but not so much at one time. It's easier when it's this way. For me, anyway.

You could see how many avatars you can get, and after you're done with that you could start a gallery.
