Interesting question about accounts from Marie

No, because for people like me, we need multiple accounts to join multiple guilds.

They ought to make it so you can be logged in to all your accounts at once. Every time you make an account, you would register or otherwise tie it to your group of accounts. Then you could implement something like active account (like active pet, but with an account) where you could use the same bank account or have the option to create more than one. I would love to have the ability to switch accounts at the click of a button, instead of logging in or switching browsers. It would be easier to feed pets that way and not get locked out because you can't remember a birthday. Unfortunately, TNT always rejects these ideas. Sigh.

Marie, even though you're not allowed to play games to earn NP on your sides, you can send items to your side from your main. That way your side account doesn't have to receive less attention than your main account.

You are also allowed to transfer NP between accounts using the trading post. You just put a junk item up for trade on your side, and bid however much you want to from your main.

I created two huge galleries back when you couldn't have both a gallery and a shop on the same account. I have invested close to 5 million to upgrade the size of one gallery and about 2 million for the other. So, there is no way I would ever want Neopets to do away with multiple accounts. Not even if they agreed to upgrade the gallery on my main account to accomodate all of the items from both galleries. I would be too afraid that one or more of my multi-million np plushies would disappear in the transfer. And if both galleries were combined, yikes, no one would ever be able to view my gallery. It'd take forever to load.

And, like yvonne just stated, you are definitely allowed to transfer items and nps from main to side accounts and vice versa. Otherwise, those of us with galleries on side accounts would be SOL.

Honestly, now that I'm into it I much prefer Subeta's system, where you can have more pets on the account and multiple shops and galleries associated with an account, but can only have one account.

I do wish I could do things like Coltzan's shrine to train the pets on my sides, but of course I can't. I wish there were a way you could "turn off" functionality on your main to be allowed to do it on a side (ie agree not to visit the shrine on my main anymore in exchange for doing it on a side).

The idea of linked accounts -- so you could do anything on any account, but never more than the allowed number of times a day total -- would be the best, IMHO.

The same way. All Neopoints for the upkeep on alternate accounts (feeding your Neopets, upgrading galleries, etc.) must come from your main account. The easiest and best way to transfer Neopoints is through the Trading Post using an omelette or some other "junk" item. If we had some sort of wire transfer system, that would work, too, but we don't so it doesn't.

This applies to scenario 1. You can have galleries on your side accounts. And you can transfer nps and items from your main account to feed, play with, and paint your side account's pets, and also to fill your side account's gallery.

I think so too! It's a great idea, ninjausagi If you haven't sent it in to TNT, you really should... it's worth trying.

It's not only a good idea in general, but it means that TNT is actually giving us a means to not accidentally freeze ourselves for using multiple accounts.

Come to think of it, it's rather unfair that we have to remember these rules and loopholes, when TNT has the ways and means (through the programming of their site) to limit us from doing these things. For example, any account not marked as a "main" wouldn't be allowed to collect a daily freebie.

Free email accounts are readily available, and even if you as a parent don't want your children to use email for various reasons you can make an email to go with each of your kids' accounts and keep the passwords to yourself and access them yourself when your kids forget their passwords.

As a parent of an 8 and 10 year old, I think this is the way to go with siblings on the same computer, under the current system.

If they can't handle having their own email, or if they are old enough but you don't trust them (I know many kids I went to school with, if I was their parent there's no WAY I would let them have their own email that I couldn't see first).... set up an email address for them, create the account FOR them, and don't tell them the password to the email address. If they forget their NP password, YOU take care of it with "their" email.

There's no reason, with hotmail and yahoo and all that, that you couldn't create a separate email for each person in your family. Just because you set it up doesn't mean they get to use it.

HOWEVER, having said that.... I certainly agree it would be nice to link accounts. Linking them would also....
1. force you to only make NP on your main account (if you did on an account designated as a subaccount, it wouldn't work properly)
2. perhaps make it easier to send stuff back and forth
3. perhaps make it easier for TNT to spot folks breaking the rules.

All I can think of is that as a 'long time adult player', you should know these things already.

Especially if you read the editorial. I make sure to read the editorial every week, just because it is the best way to keep up with information on the site.

For one asking such questions, it would probably have helped to do some research first on such subjects, since TNT has said plenty of times you can transfer items and NP over from your main account via things like the trading post.

I don't think I could stand to have 20 pets on the same Neo account when they've been placed on each separate account for a reason. I suppose my accounts are themed, but were only made that way after deciding what pets I wanted. They're each set in different worlds with different neohomes and adjusted whenever I want a new pet. It'd just be too hard to change after all this time.

I've looked but never played Subeta, but I think 20 pets per account would be overwhelming. I would just like 5. I would even be ok with them having us pay (np of course) to upgrade our account for the option, like upgrading a gallery.

I agree I wouldn't want 20 pets on one account, but I would like to have the ability to link accounts. However, I think the current system is not too bad in terms of being able to take care of all pets and accounts. Linking accounts would just be the next step up to being great, instead of "not too bad".

I would also gladly pay money to have a fifth pet slot.

You can earn np on your main only. You can transfer neopoints to your side account and purchase items or you can purchase items and send them to your side account.

You are allowed to join multiple guilds.
