Does anyone know if the 1 billion Neopoint mark has been reached?

I'm sure that DragonDoodies is close though, xD

I'd be surprised if v_team never reached that point. Hrobi's undoubtedly close.

From what I've heard alombar passed it before he was frozen, and munsterpoo has since passed him. But then again, this was from the neoboards, so...

Lol, whoa, I WISH.

For someone who's been playing from scratch (New account, never played neopets before) for 10 months, I have maybe 10-20 million worth of cash + goods, tops. Which is good, mind you.. but.. Billion.. lol omg. :)

This summer's gonna be awesome, that's when the market fluctuates up and inflation kicks in due to the masses of kids coming on to play... I've been hoarding a lot of books which I plan to sell when the price fluxes way up.

I think that it would be hard to imagine NO ONE having one billion np. People who started playing at the beginning and have had their item prices inflate huge amounts have surely made hundreds of millions, along with normal play.

I guess it would depend on whether you were asking about nps only or whether the fair market value of items would be included in that one billion mark. Because I know that there are a few of us plushie collectors who might be close to, if not over, that amount, especially since some of the retired/limited edition plushies in our possession are on the TP for 10-20 million. My guess is that this would also apply to those who have galleries containing retired or limited edition items, faerie items (those dolls are quite pricey), rare BD items, or HT items.

EDIT: And, gosh, if you included the price people have paid to train their pets, my guess is that there'd be even more people over the 1 billion mark. Though they can't sell their pets, a person can still figure out its worth by calculating the cost to train it. I don't battle but one of my best friends does. His pet is in the top 50 pets. And I bet that he's spent almost as much training that pet as I've spent on the plushies in my plushie gallery. And, I do have quite a few plushies. :P They are an addiction. *lol*

It would be so incredible to buy anything you wanted and not have to worry about being poor. XD
I've barely come close to 200k, nonetheless one mil.

I would think v_team is over the one million mark though, considering how much they have invested in Hrobi.
You figure, you have the cost of the map and/or the cost of codestones and dubloons for training, the kick-butt set...

I think you misread - there are many players who have over a million. This is *b*illion, with a b.

Yeah -- AySz88, think one million.

Then times it by another million.

;)

No, it'd be a million times a thousand.
1 million = 1.0 x 10^6
1 billion = 1.0 x 10^9
1 trillion = 1.0 x 10^12

Unless you're into victorian-era English numbering systems, at which point you have
1 million = 1.0 x 10^6
1 milliard = 1.0 x 10^9
1 billion = 1.0 x 10^12
1 trillion = 1.0 x 10^18

"One billion Neopoints."

(Wait, shouldn't that be Dr. Sloth?)

Anyhow, misquotes and actual figuring of "billion" and humor aside, there's more than one way to define wealth, as so many others in this thread have pointed out. There's investing in pets (painting, training, petpets, lab ray, morphing potions), shops and galleries (it takes NP both to expand them and put things in them), the stock market, etc. Not meaning to brag, and I'm not going to name specifics because I don't want people breaking into my account, but right now I've got a battle item that's worth more than the NP I've got in my bank account. So what are you counting? The pure NP, or the item too?

I would probably have a lot more Neopoints today if I never trained or painted any of my pets. But if I had that NP, guess what I'd do with it? :P I've never liked the idea of having NP just to say, "I have such and such amount" or even to collect the interest off of it. Whatever NP I do manage to scrape together, I usually use it to paint a pet. Or buy it books, or a petpet, or anything else that helps define it. But see, THAT is one of the major things in this game that makes me happy, not just having the NP to do so. Does that make any sense?

I understand. I'm the same way. Right now I'm saving up, but that's only so that I can spend more later. Collecting wealth just for the sake of collecting wealth is fine too, if that's what makes a person happy. But for me, personally, I like to use NP to do things that express the characters of my pets, such as neohoming, painting them, etc.

That's insane to think about, especially because Adam isn't even close.
