Cape of the sun changes pet's gender?

For those of you who have used the cape to change your male pets to female .. how many battles did it take for your pets gender to change?
I have fought over 4 battles and my pet is still a male .. I have used the cape alone and with another weapon during battle .. still nothing .. my pets Intelligence : ULTIMATE GENIUS (580) .. so I don't think that can be why it's not working.

Any help would be great.

The gender change (M->F) was apparently a bug that has now been corrected.

Since the Cape of the Sun no longer changes a pet's gender and the topic is already being discussed here, I'll go ahead and lock this thread.
