Alright...I understand that Neo is simply trying to keep Neopia a safe place for all ages, but really...it's beginning to get ridiculous. There's no way for us to know what words they arbitrarily decided are inappropriate and, therefore cannot be posted. I am not a vulgar person, nor am I rude. I only post in my guild, but I'm imagining it's the same out on the boards.

One time, I had to randomly reword a message 4 times before realizing it wasn't letting me use the word "King." Or, at least, that's the conclusion I came to. I'm not really 100% sure. A person can only reword things so many different ways!

This morning I had to repost something after seeing that stupid angry meerca looking at me like I'm the sickest person on the planet for what I wrote. Ugh!

Neopets doesn't have a list of words (for good reasons...that would defeat the purpose) and while the chat board rules say no talking about s-e-x or gross situations or religious/political views, I have done NONE of those things and are still told that I am being inappropriate in some way....so, obviously, there are some unstated rules that Neo isn't telling us. (yes...I know there are guidelines concerning scamming and such...but this isn't about that...this is about single words)

So, TNT, if you're reading this, here's my suggestion. People don't know what you want! That's why the moody Meerca is having to attack the esteem of so many good-hearted Neopians. I've never done anything against the rules nor have I purposely used one of your arbitraty bad-words. Help us help you.

It's not like insane filters help. There are just too many ways to vary spelling, insert commas or hyphens or 1337 letter substitutes, etc. to filter stuff anyway. They need to block the basic stuff and let it go at that, or if they're not willing to do that, at least tell people what tripped the filters.

What was the word before King? It could be a case of the filter thinking your trying to say the F word by spacing it out and spelling it a bit differently.

Its a nuisance, but its better than people slipping through the filter constantly.

I don't remember what the word was. It was way back when the King Altador Daily began. It was probably something along the lines of "I think that the new King Altador thing is lame...it doesn't give anything worth value." Probably something like that.

I always get the meerca for using 'bad as' (and I can see what words they are trying to block, but it's still annoying) There's another that I had a hard time with recently, but I can't think of it right now.

The word 'aliens' was blocked when I tried to update my lookup recently. Im still not sure why. It couldnt be because talking about illegal aliens is against the rules, right? Thats a little bit of overkill o_o Especially when Neopets has Aisha aliens and various outer spacey stuff.

I read somewhere that Doug Dohring prides himself on blocking over 1000 versions of the f-word.

I got the meerca for saying the word "snatch" the other day, as in "People will snatch that item out of the shop FAST" . . . that's the first time in a while.

There have been a few times where I've had a post, which had NOTHING in it that even came CLOSE to something that should be banned - and I'd reword it 10 times and STILL get the meerca. I usually just give up, and submit it for review.

Not that it does anything to submit it, but still. :roll:

Ooh, if that tripped the filters for the reason I THINK it tripped the filters...for some reason I just find the idea of Neopets blocking that particular slang hysterical.
I should probably get my sense of humor checked, to make sure it's still working properly.

The new members still bypass the filters. Why bother?

I haven't been able to say the word "pass", "passes", et cetera, in a couple of years.

I'm impressed - I can only think of about 50.

I think the boards, in general, are a joke. There's too many users for too few mods, and there are too many people who take too many things way too seriously.

Although, I guess it's Ok that some of those users are there rather than here...

Be careful. Even though the NT keeps telling us that they don't auto freeze, I'm pretty sure that a filter froze me once. I came to this conclusion because I didn't get my warning until I had already been frozen. It was a miracle I got my account back.
