I tried searching to see if this was an old issue, but I didn't come up with any topics on this.

I glanced at my Koi and saw it was 299lbs. I'm quite stumped at how this happened.

I'll list some facts:
I created this pet. (The other pet I created at the time is 78lbs.)
Highest Fishing Skill among my pets.
I labbed it.
I used a Transmogrification Potion on it.
I painted it at the Rainbow Pool.
I recently started training him. (More powerful pets don't weigh as much.)
I didn't use any neggs that change such stats. (Pumpkin Negg?)

I'd love some theories as to how this could've happened. :)

I think if you lab it and it changes species, it gets the weight of those species it is labbed into. Maybe that is what happened? Don't quote me on that, but it seems like it is what happens.

Have you done any Earth Faerie quests? They've been known to up the weight...
I don't believe the lab changes height/weight stats (namely because my friend labbed an Eyrie and now has a GIANT Usul)

Do you feed it a lot of B-B-Q Pork and Orange Chicken? I heard those increase pets' weight.

The lab thing sounds interesting. I don't feed it, it stays in the Lodge with my other pets.

I don't think it's the lab, my current labrat has been labbed every day for the past 3 years and is only at 123lbs... my labrat before that, for maybe a year or so, is 120lbs.
My other pet, which has been Transmogrificationified (:P) twice is only 100lbs.
My final pet, who has only been painted and that's it, is 49lbs.

They all eat free 1 a day sponsor stuff, like the 7-eleven, pepsi, movie snackbar, and now the gushers thing. I dunno.

I just checked my Koi on my side, and he's 25lbs. You've definitely got a fatty there :D
Edit: But my Chomby is 304, jeeze. I win.

I don't believe it's the Lab either. My most-labbed pet(currently a Ruki) is 98 lbs, while the two I've never labbed are 30 pounds heavier.
I've never heard of species or colour changes affecting the pet's height or weight--the only thing I've ever heard of affecting either were food related(like BBQ Porkwiches and Earth Faerie quests). So whatever your pet started out as, that height and weight stayed with it through the changes. If this is normal for Chombies(I assume, from the name, that this pet started out as a Chomby), and metalmario's posts suggests it might be, then the weight's not that unusual. It's why my Grarrl is 46 lbs, while my Kougra is 127--the former started out as a Wocky and the latter an Eyrie.

I'm kinda confused - has it always been this heavy and you're just now noticing it, or was it lighter before and just gained weight all of a sudden?

I glanced down your list, and I've done pretty much all of those things to more than one pet. Never noticed any sudden weight gain.

This is most likely what happened. Did your pet, in fact, change species during labbing?

I also believe that the lab ray doesn't change weight. My lab pet is currently a 62lb Skieth, which is about half the weight of my Lupe...

My pets exist on a pretty boring diet of omelettes and jelly. My poor Tonu lives exclusively on glowing jelly. He's at 198 lbs. I have not paid attention if he's gained weight since he's gone to the exclusively jelly, diet though.

FWIW, the lab pet started out as a Shoyru.

Not lab, my lab pet is only 56 lbs. I have used Trans, lab, highest fish skill, and recently trained him. I have no idea what judges it.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply it was much lighter a few days ago, but I'm sure it wouldn't have started out at 300lbs when I created it. :P It was a Chomby originally.

I always wondered how they calculated weight. My usuls are average: 89lbs and 93lbs. My lupe is 128lbs... and my lutari is 0lbs.
