Put a lot of hard work into this? I see it the other way around: I feel TNT just threw away 6 good long years of 'hard work'. Very disturbing.

Beanmommy, your games scores are on your lookup. Just in a teeny tiny place. If you check your lookup, you'll see several boxes. Go to the third one down, entitled Games and Trophies and "Games Played" is in the upper left corner right under the "Games and Trophies" title.

In my defense, it is very tiny and I am pushing 40 and the eyes are not what they used to be.

Now that I've taken the time and noticed, why isn't every Neopet able to remain with its old images? Who got to pick and choose which of my pets would become fugly against my will?

I want the old one back. Why can't they make it optional to use the old layout?


I guess you are right about all the work, but really. Maybe BEFORE they did that they should have asked our opinion. I'm sure if they put out a simple poll, they would find that hardly anyone wants a complete new site look. They should of put all of that time and effort into NEOSCHOOL.

Also, if you look at requests on the editorial, you will see requests for neoschool, dress up (before customable came), and such. Not once have I seen "Dear TNT, Hello. I love this site! You guys rock! Guess what I would just love? You should completly redo the site, making it disorganized and ugly! That would be SO COOL! Also, if you do that, be sure to screw up my lovely Kougras and make them look like strange little girly girls while your at it! Thanks. Oh yeah, make sure it would look almost like a differnt site if it wern't for the logo. Bye!"

Okay, that was a little exagerated, but I've made my point.

The more I test it out, the more I see the capability to reduce size. If they INSIST on keeping all the little modules and stuff, an 800x600 version of the top bar could be easily made(by squishing stuff together), and then we could ignore the crud on the right. Things like Neoquest and the inventory page still look almost like the 800x600 version.
If they just give me a version I can see without sidescrolling, I can swallow all the other changes(fortunately, the awful versions of my pets are optional at this time) and keep plugging away at Neopets. But I have these awful visions of them saying something like this in the Editorial:
"We decided to make the move to a higher resolution because that's the way most people view the internet these days. We have no plans to make an 800x600 version, because that resolution is no longer the most common screen resolution."
If they do say that...and there's no "Neo classic" option...well, that's it. These pages just don't look right in 800x600 as they are now, and Neo's as good as told me I'm not important enough for them to want me around.

Another reason people are not liking it. .png extensions are not showing up in IE. They show up in Firefox just fine, but not in IE. And that is causing major problems with some people who are in malls. Many mall maps have png extensions. So, if the map doesn't show up in their shop, then there's really no sense of them being in a mall. The banner for my Avatarlog isn't showing up in IE either.

And think of all of the hours of time that some individuals and some Neo fansites have put into making backgrounds, premade layouts and lookups. And that's all down the toilet now. Such a shame because part of the reason I liked the site so much was that each person could create their own unique userlookup and reflect their individual tastes in style on their lookup and in their shop and gallery. And now, we are all pretty much forced to wear the same school uniform.

Months of planning and work may have gone into it, but it doesn't seem like much sense. Sure, it's pretty and shiny looking (parts at least), but it's not practical and doesn't seem like it was thought all the way out.

I'm reserving my final judgement for next week, because I understand they still need to work out some kinks..but the first impression of this is not good.

Question for people with premium..if you don't see the embedded ads, what's in its place? Blank space or premium related stuff?

I'm not on Premium, and now I am pretty sure I will never be on it, but the placeholders for blocked ads are often a huge glaring black square.

I would have thought that. I love the modules. I love the layout. I would have been behind them 100%. . . if not for the pet customization. I hate the pet customization now that it's mandatory.

If I'm to continue playing, I HAVE to figure out the code to cover my pets' pictures with the old images. Either that, or buy some invisible paint brushes.
