Wow. I've been on Neopets for 6 years now, and although the redesign is a bit of a shock to the system, I think it's ... okay. I'm not impressed that they've made the page so wide, but I think they've certainly brought it out of the 90s.
What I'm not so impressed with is that we seem stuck with the new pet designs. Can we un-customise them?!! They promised it was a beta, and that it wasn't permanent! I'm so glad I haven't changed over my grey yurble yet, he looks so lovely as he is.
My poor ghost zafara
She was my favourite, and I had picked out a petpet to perfectly match her yellow spikes.
I know a lot of you are struggling with worse, though...

OK, "Inrun" I get the hint. lol. I will go look at your masterpiece now and undoubtedly my jaw will drop and I will have to pick it up. Always seems to happen when I look at your work.
By the way, I showed the changes on Neopets to my extremely cynical 14 year old daughter (who was quite the little Neo addict a few years back, as some of you will recall). She rolled her eyes and said, "See why I don't play that baby game anymore?" and went off to play WOW. TNT should realize that over 40 percent of us are adults. And many more who are in their teens. And some of us really don't appreciate the goochy-goo baby stuff that was just dumped into our laps. I will try very hard to keep playing this game, but it is really hard to drop money each month into a site that keeps treating us like we are all 6 years old. If I wanted that, I'd go find some Sesame Street game to play.

It'll take some getting used to, Neopets has been the same since I was twelve, and I'm nineteen now..

What I hate about the new layout is how stretched out the site seems to be. Things are also kind of hard to find. I really don't see the reason for making a new layout, when the old one worked just fine for years. I would have rather them said "We have a new layout that SOME OF YOU might like. If you want to try this, click here" and if you don't like it, you can change it back. Also, your pets are now avalible in new customization poses, but if you don't like them, then just ignore this.
That is, it would have been better if this was all optional. Those who wanted to use it, could click something, and those who didn't want it, could just ignore the news.
And I'd rather have had a whole week with no news at all, giving them time to work on somehow making this all optional, then to update it on a friday and then wait until monday to find out if we'll be able to revert our pets or layouts back or not or if they will change anything.
Now we have to wait all weekend with a layout and pet poses we don't like.

I just scanned the last two pages as I should be in bed (;)) but for premium everything looks the same but for the ads at the top, there is no space there, there are also none of the irritating bottom ads trying to jump up and bite you.
One more premium comment, stealth currently no longer works because if you happen to be online a neofriend can see you in the neofriend module. No more hidig out sadly
The one thing that really irks me is the fact they didn't ask our opinion. I wasn't on neo at the time put did they not once ask the users to choose between a selection of new paint brushes? Something as minor as that back then we were asked, but this is just sprung on us *le sigh*
I can live with the rest if I have to (apart from what they did to my poor Chomby) and I am sort of enjoying learning to code lookups again, and yes I was one of those poor unfortunates who made premades, customs and entered many a user spotlight.

Eh, I'm not going to freak out so much on everything just yet.
I will say, on a positive note (and believe me, I don't have much to comment on there) that the new version of the site works a LOT better on safari than the earlier version. However, it's HUGE in IE, which makes it not so convienent for me to play at work. Blah.

The new layout is pretty much entirely CSS.
Isn't it possible then to hide the bits we don't want with our own style sheet, much like how ads are blocked?

I miss Baby Poogle Eater. But WOW is so rocking. I bet in another few years there will be a Neopets MMORPG. That'd be hillarious.
Anyways. I'm going back to saying I miss Adam and Donna, and how they used to visit these forums. *sighs* They were personable... and cool. I think people took them for granted.
