I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but I've just gotten on my laptop--which is designed for 1280 x 800, and anything else looks blurry and stretched. Now I look at Neopets and go, "Wha? So much random blank space on either side?!"
Compare: 800x600 and 1280x800
I know 1024x768(or whatever it is) is the most common resolution, but if you look at the first chart in the first post, that's still only about 40% of all computers. They're not even appealing to a majority here. Neopets is useable at 1280x800, but it doesn't look any better than it did before. I can't believe they didn't consider that, you know?

I really don't like it. I have this thing where everything has to be centred and in Neopets, it was. Now, my gallery is at the side of the page, rather than in the middle, nothing seems to have any pattern or symetry, my lookup is all over the place rather than being set out rather like a template. It just clutters up my mind and makes me eyes hurt, if you want the absolute honest truth.

I think they could easily make this better. a) not so much junk everywhere. cut down on the modules which will cut down on the sheer size of the layout. b)have the layout expand vertically c)change our pets back to what they were!

Honestly,
I can see everyone having their own little gripes and such, but to say that Neo doesn't have us in mind is kind of ridiculous. It hasn't even been ONE WHOLE DAY with this yet, and everyone is jumping ship. I could understand if people were waiting a week, or even a few days and then complaining, because hey, I'm sure thats more likely to be permanent. But seriously, they said they were just testing some things out.. it is in Beta, you know. Give them a little credit, theres how many users of Neopets? Its not like they can make all of us happy all the time, if they think it's for the better, they may be right. Lets just give them time before we start criticizing them.. its not their fault people don't like change.

Frankly the old layout was ALWAYS ugly and just as confusing for newcomers. You'll all get used to the new one sooner or later.
By having top and bottom bars there's more room for maps and pet artwork to be larger, incidentally.

No seriously... how am I supposed to find games? do I have to use the search bar now? because that's just stupid... All I get when I click games room is "new games" and "featured game" and a blank advert...

Yea, I always thought Pet Central was weird - not helpful. And I always forgot how to get to the fun images. This is much better.
I can understand people thinking it's too much, too cluttered, because yea, it seems that way. The font and everything is cleaner and more modern though - love it. My son loves the redraws. We saw some robot ones posted somewhere and they were awsome, even creepy. So not everything is cuter.
It really is amazing to me how very upset some people are getting over the changes. It's like someone died in their family. I'm not saying it to be mean or critical, I'm just amazed. If you like to write letters, you could do that on behalf of people put in prison unfairly (and torutured and stuff). PM me if you want to know more.

That just means people were resigned to not being heard by Neo any more. (This is nothing against people who liked the new Games page, I'm just pointing out how I felt about it.)
I do feel kind of bad for all the people who put so much effort into this new layout, but ultimately it was NOT their decision. This change had to have come from management, and probably very high-level management. So even though a lot of people are furious about the change, and detest various things about it, we're really mad at the person who changed it, and not the designers/programmers/artists who worked on the change.

I don't get why you're so shocked. Neopets is obviously a big part of most our lives or we wouldn't be here. A lot of us have invested years into the site and it's changing really fast and not necessarily for the better. I understand if you don't share our feelings, but you don't have to be so belittling.

I like that they made lookups uniform. I was getting sick to death of trying to see dark font on dark backgrounds or cluttered junk all over with bad formatting and MUSIC... of god I hate music on lookups, it makes me want to smash my screen.

It looks as though they may be listening to some of our feedback - the Pet and Neofriends modules have disappeared for me.
I'd love for them to make the Neodaq Index line on the main page a link to the Stock Market.

The modules are still there for me. I hope the won't permanently remove them, but make them an option. I quite like seeing my active pet.

I'd like to have an option and pick whichever modules I use most. I don't have any use for neofriends, but I'd like to see my stocks.

I hope we get to keep the active pet module. I like that my pets can talk to me now.
