I've just noticed that feeding my pets makes their health go up (not gain total hit points, just gain a few points if they were less than 100% health, for example). Is this new? Why have I never noticed this???

This is not new - many battlers use this to their advantage in wars to restore enough hit points to get back in (particularly with the recent Mayor fights). It only works if your pet is below a certain percentage of health, though. I've never been able to get a pet back to full health with it. Also, it seems the lower percentage of health they have, the more they gain (rough example, not based on any exact proven stats, if you're at 10/100, you might gain 5 health, while if you were at 30/100, you might only gain 2). Someone correct me if this is wrong.

No, it's been around a while...at least, it has for me. I guess it's not well-known because there are cheaper ways to partially or even completely heal a pet.

I never really noticed that before. Of course I only battle during wars and for avies. Even then, as long as I win I don't really pay too much attention. :P

Some pets are completely healed by foods with a certain word in them. The only ones that come to mind are kaus and milk, and pteris and worms.

I know, my pet got 41 HP from eating 1 thing. It has been here a while now though.

I've "healed" my pets completely with food, but the ones I've done it with are my pets with very very low (less than 20) HP. I'm not patient enough to heal completely for anything above that.

Well... since I don't play often, and my pets are always starving when I wanna do battledome, it's a quick way to heal up any missing hitpoints. :) [/nonethical treatment]

**Inserts old podcast "joke"**

Don't make me call PETN!

**End old podcast "joke"**

(If you don't get it, way back in like episode 5 or 6 or even earlier, the crew wanted to have PETN, People for the Ethical Treatment of Neopets, of course it was just a joke, but a funny one at that) :P

In the future, questions such as this should be asked in Neopets Help :)
