I just read a post on the boards talking about something called neovision. It is a premium beta test. I don't have premium so I can't confirm this. Supposedly you You can upload neopet related videos to the site.
They are ruining neopets. Who wants to see a bunch of stupid videos?!

Well if that is true, good luck to them moderating that because that's gonna end up being a doozy of a project just taking care of that in addition to all the maintainace that something like that requires.

It is true. It's really hard for me to not type expletives right now.

EDIT: Media conglomeration, much? A definite ripoff of YouTube, completely corporate-driven.

It just sounds horrid. They don't want people posting any personal information. They don't want photos on lookups, and yet they are going to let people upload videos? That is weird? And I just can't see their being anything worth watching on there. If I wanted to see a bunch of pre teen kids running around, singing badly and making a fool of themselves while thinking they are so cool, then I could just watch youtube.

Well, you can't have faces in your videos, or other identifying information. You also can't use music unless it is your own. No logos or trademarks of other companies, either. Meant for a "G" audience. I sent them a comment wishing them luck on identifying the more obscure songs out there.

So, you can tape your plushie Neopets around your...legs? BAH! It would be better if it was animated films, I suppose, but I sent them a snippy comment.

I can only hope it gets used for more screengrabby sorts of things than anything else. I can't think of any other use for this. It's not like a significant number of players can do stop-motion or Flash animation.

I think it's a really bad idea... Not to mention they probably don't have the server space for uploads or pageviews.

So as long as it doesn't get to the point that neopets becomes a vile spyware/virus ridden pile of sludge, I'll probably still visit once in a while.

Along with many people, I'm sure. I was just getting back into Neopets, setting up goals for myself, but now (especially with this...how does this fit into the spirit of Neopets, exactly?) I'll be a "once in a while" visitor.

Good grief. I don't even know what to say to this one. I'm tired of everything that I (used to) like going down the toilet. This isn't something I would have expected out of Neopets.

Why? Because this is TOTALLY going to come back and bite them in the arse. The sheer amount of money that they are going to waste in quality control could feed several families for a year.
