I'm so tired all the time. Today I feel really bad; the worst I've felt for quite a while in fact. My body is aching, my arms feel heavy and typing makes my arms hurt, I keep yawning, my eyes are heavy, I keep getting headaches and I've had a runny nose and a sore throat since before Christmas last year.

According to the professionals, like doctors and professors and the like, you're supposed to get 8 hours of sleep or more every night. I have been. I usually sleep between 8 to 12 hours, sometimes more than that. And I STILL feel tired. We started going for long walks at the start of winter and getting fresh air and that is also supposed to be healthy for you. It's also supposed to invigorate you and keep you fit. Not me. I work between 16 and 20 hours a week at work and surely that should help me to keep fit too?

I dunno what I'm going to do about this. All the blood tests I've had over the years (this is a VERY longterm 'illness') don't show everything. I'm very healthy according to the tests. So why don't I FEEL healthy?

People call me an attention seeker because I keep saying that I feel ill and tired all the time. Yes, I like the attention, I admit it. I AM an attention seeker, but not about things like illness! When people are ill, they don't keep it to themselves, do they? It's right to have a moan when you're ill. You just want a bit of support and some company and TLC. I was complaining about my sore throat today because it's been really bad today. My brother just told me to shut up and stop being an attention seeker.

What do you guys think?

I eat a lot of chocolate but I also love my vegetables and I LOVE salads. Sometimes, I'll have things like Weetabix in the morning, which I KNOW is healthy. But I do go hours without food sometimes. And that's because a lot of the time, I don't feel like I have the strength to make me something proper.

Part of the reason why you're tired all the time might be because you're getting too much sleep. It's contradictory, but not only will not getting enough sleep (less than 7-8 hours) make you tired, but so will getting too much sleep (more than 9-10 hours).

Sounds like you're slightly lacking in iron. Just eat red meat or spinach more often.

Anemia. Agreed. My friend had this quite badly. Really if you're sleeping 8-12 hours a night that seems to be too long. Generally 8 should be enough. Try regulating your sleep to simply 8 hours. Oversleeping always makes me tired.

I think you should see a doctor and get some tests done. Hopefully they'll figure out what's going on with you so you can feel better. :)

We're a bunch of people without medical degrees--even if we were doctors, it would be impossible to diagnose you over the internet.

Dragonfire: - You could be right. Therefore, I'm going to try and get exactly 8 hours of sleep. I usually fall to sleep withing half an hour so I'll set my alarm clock to eight and a HALF hours ahead to make it more precise.

Twinkle: - I had amaemia before and I took iron tablets. However, it caused me to have a lot of headaches and the headaches aren't one of the major symptoms in this case. But again, you could be right. Except I eat quite a lot of spinich anyway, as it's a vegetable and I like my veg. Won't touch red meat with a barge pole though.

Ahoteinrun: Thank you for the advice. I've said in reply to Dragonfire's post that I'll try and get the right amount of sleep and hopefully it will help.

PuddingOfEvil: I went to see my doctor a few weeks ago and he arranged for a blood test. They tested everything, including my bone marrow and all that. The tests came back negative. All of them. So apparently I'm very healthy. But if that was the case, I wouldn't feel like this would I?

Locked. Theres not much we can do besides make random semi-educated guesses about whats causing your illnesses. As said before in every other thread about physical woes, you should see a doctor about your symptoms. I hope you find out what is causing your pains and can come back and make a cured topic. :)
