GAH! Furiosity!!! :x

There's something wildly unfair about the new ways of visiting Lutari Island.

I am WAY too poor to buy a brand new phone and then pay for interweb use on it, so my other option is to sellout my friends and make them join... But... I believe I get, what, 1 bead per friend to add to my talisman? And... HOW many beads do I need to collect?

Also, although I know plenty of growned-ups like myself play the game, lets face it, Neopets is targeted at children. Children. How many children a- own a fancy phone and b- can be trusted with paying for interweb access on it?

Irresponsible and poorly thought out marketting ploy much?

Sorry for the rant, BTW, also Hi! to every one! :D

Er... What's your definition of 'children'? If it's 15-25ish, it seems sensible to me to try it out, and see whether or not they end up getting a hold in a growing market... In terms of morality...well, the teens that earned fancy cell phones aren't usually the same ones that are irresponsible, right? :P

Lol, as a teenager who had a fancy cell phone with friends who also had fancy cell phones I could go into that for you, but I don't think this is the right forum. ;)

Anyways. I have a 9 year old sister and I 'hang out' (she's too old to be babysat) with an 11 year old. My sister has a cell phone (purely for after school activities and calling our mom) and the 11 year old and I swear, all of her friends all have cell phones that they use constantly. Kids these days usually have fancier phones than their parents, so I guess the market is there. However, I still believe that the pay features neopets has are targeted to the 15+ audience.

And one could argue that it's 'not fair'..but I don't really see that. It's not like people who pay the 3.95 (or whatever) a minute are really gaining anything substantial in terms of the entire game. If Lutari Island isn't fair than Premium isn't fair and neither is redeeming rare item codes. Neopets is a free service that if you choose, you can pay for a few perks that a lot of people argue aren't even worth the money.

It is still fair. You can still play the game just fine without paying for anything. I never did Premium, I never did Lutari Island, although I did buy tons of cards and other merch. mainly to get the items (I admit it). You can play just as well as everyone else without it.

Well, except for the not-being-able-to-get-a-Lutari thing.

If Lutaris were transferable in the pound like other pets I would be OK with the whole deal.

Lutaris aren't available in too many colors, and I am just fine with my pets already. It is just a bunch of pixels.

I got a lutari by being vigilant and creating one when it was released in limited numbers. I got one on a side account during the second release.

I got lucky with my lutari... A very kind person helped me get TanCoul.

I'm just still upset that I wanted one desperately for so long (an ottery NeoPet? YAY!)... just for the art to have change dramatically for the worse. Blech.

But you're right, they're just a bunch of pixels. I just miss the original art because the lutaris were almost too cute to handle.

Well... drat. I was playing around with my cellphone and Neopets mobile and accidentally bought a month of service by downloading the applet.

If anyone feels that they can trust me and wants a lutari, PM me.

EDIT: I think it has now become even less of a priority. I accidentally deleted it from my Verizon phone. It is nowhere on the Get It Now search, so I contacted Verizon directly to get the program back. Apparently, Verizon no longer offers or supports Neopets Mobile. Looks like its going to go bye-byes.

Maybe if the cell companies are dropping it, they'll release it on the website

*hopelessly hopes*
