Oh, god no! Don't even say that Moonlight! D:

This stinks. Viacom stinks. Grrr. Well, the sheer fact that they're having a movie stunk enough. Then the "Updates" on Neo that are more like "Downdates". Now, this.

Anyways, does anyone know what other good pet sites are out there? I'm thinking of going with GoPets, since Subdea is having a cow of beef with that other site.

Now that Viacom has its evil, glittery clutches on it, we can guarantee that this will be marketed for "tweens" and be the least edgy CGI movie since Doogal. At best, this could be another forgettable but halfway decent animal movie like Madagascar. Unfortunately, I'm thinking this will be closer to "The Backyardigans," if you're unlucky enough to know what that is.

Oh my God. What if they make it a musical?

No. No, they wouldn't be that cruel.

Maybe CBS will buy out Viacom again, and then maybe something sensible will happen on those networks...

CBS and Viacom are both owned and controlled by National Amusements, which also owns and controls Midway Games.

I work for a CBS station in Miami... I had to go through the whole "history".

So in a way, CBS will never own Viacom, and Viacom will never again own CBS... the two are connected at the... brain?

It's a dumb situation. But it means I get some rockin' discounts...

...Huh? Then how'd they supposedly 'split' a few months ago?

And if the movie turns out to be a musical, I sure hope they don't get the writers of Legally Blonde: The Musical to do it. Those songs are awful...

That's so dissapointing to hear! I had such high hopes.

Don't worry, I've heard the choreography is superb. Good enough for a Tony nomination too, if I'm not mistaken.

Originally, one person led both sections (CBS & Viacom) and made decisions for both.
They "split" and now each have their own decision maker... but overall, they're owned by the same main company now... so changes are exceedingly unlikely to change.

:( And I am extremely saddened at the news of Neo on Nick. I'll admit, I catch Avatar & Fairly OddParents...
but this is not a good thing in my book.

Oh! Thanks for clearing that up for me. :)

All the new Neopets products reminds me of Spaceballs. Spaceballs...
the Toilet Paper, the Doll, the Breakfast Cereal, the Coloring Book, the T-Shirt, the Flame Thrower, the Plate, the Towel, the Video, the Sheets, the Placemat, the Shaving Cream.

I wonder where Neopets will branch of next with merchandizing. I'm betting on girl's beauty products. You'll see Usuki brand lipbalm next to Bonnie Bell in Target.

I want Neopets shaving cream.....

Anyway i'm going to take this news with a pinch of salt. Of course I am a bit bewildered by this. I'm not going to pass judgment until I see one of these minishows..This is just perhaps being a bit to optimistic and thinking it might be good...
Just hope they do not animate everything in flash..like..allmost..every cartoon out there now...
Eh..

As long as they steer clear of the Neopets trainer bra I think I'll be just fine.

I would really love a Neopets blender, though.

To blend your other Neopet merchandise in. :D

But yeah, I can see them coming out with others products like that. They already have the beach towels, video games, stuffed animals, keychains, magazines, and all that other crap.

You wouldn't want a Neopets trainer bra?

(I'm trying to think of something to put here that isn't completely chauvinistic and off-color. Something that doesn't involve Jubjubs.)

Wow... I never thought of associating bras and jubjubs in the same sentence before... but now I have a new Neopets-related slang term. :)

I'm not shocked by the commercialization... Disney actually came out with Old Yeller brand dog food, which is just wrong on many levels.

Ohh... Neopets kitty litter. Neopets electrical generators. Neopets power tools. Neopets brand at home genetic-modification kit.

I'll be interested to see if customizing is a primary focus of the Nick spots. The request in the News for beta testers for a new customization concept, the NC Mall, sent up red flags. Quote: "it'll be the place to go for expanding your customization experience with exclusive wearables, backgrounds, and..." Remember a mention in the Editorial about something in the future that we could pay for but wouldn’t affect the way we use the site? Hope I'm wrong but my feeling is that there will be a new onsite store where virtual clothes, accessories and backgrounds can be purchased for real money. No manufacturing, no inventory, no stores to deal with. 100% pure profit. I certainly can't begrudge a company for wanting to increase profits and I suppose that dressing a grarrl like a ballerina would appeal to someone but involuntarily changing so many pets as part of a ploy to make money would be inexcusable.
