The optimistic comments have given me a more positive outlook on there being a Plot part 2. :)

While looking at PPT's General Chat, I re-read the "Neopets On Nickelodeon" thread about Neo mini-cartoons starting June 23 on Nick. (Three days from now!) One sentence from the Forbes article quoted in the thread caught my attention: "Neopets fans will find hidden clues embedded in each episode that will help them unlock puzzles and trivia questions on the Neopets site." Hmmm... could some of those puzzles be plot related?

I doubt it. It's all just going to be advertisements to gain more members. You know how on some cereal boxes they have puzzles and trivia, and also a website? Yeah, I think thats what they're doing. They just want to attract new members.

For all of you that keep wondering if the plot is really over or not this is from the Editorial of the Neopian Times!

I heard that Draik eggs could be won from treasure maps and I'm wondering if it's true. I have a Neofriend that has been buying up maps hoping for one. Also, is the Lost Journey plot really over? :( ~katz66
It is possible to win Draik eggs from turning in the nine different "Piece of a Treasure Map" items, though it is very unlikely. In all probability the cost of collecting and using up the map pieces will be more expensive than simply buying a morphing potion or egg, though who knows? Some people have the craziest luck. For those unaware, when a complete "Treasure Map" (please note that this is the original one, NOT the underwater/space/secret lab map) is turned in, the pieces are consumed and you will be rewarded with up to 15,000 NP or so, several Collectable Cards, and some totally random items that are over rarity 60.

The pieces from this set (Pictures of the Original Treasure Map, which you can see here. No others can award Draik eggs.

As for the Lost Isle plot, it is over. Well, it was quite open-ended, wasn't it? There was also that suspicious question mark after "The End." Curious. But no, it's over and prizes will be coming shortly. (The lad who worked on the code has been stolen away, unfortunately. The minute he's given back to us, he'll finish the prize shop! Hopefully this will happen in the next couple of weeks.)

Maybe they lied, maybe they didn't.

Err... though your's is the most comprehensive one, you would be the third to quote this passage from the Neopian Times in this split. There's one on each page...

Mutant: This Yooyu is extremely unpredictable, moving in a variety of patterns reminiscent of the Fire, Snow, Faerie and Darigan Yooyus.
And it has since before the tourney started. :)

Oh yeah, bust my bubble. :P Oh well... it was fun imagining monster-sized green footballs eating the players. Giant Yooyus in the Battledome!!

In other news, there's a meteor on Kreludor. It looks like a daily, but when I went to look at it and selected the 'poke it with a stick' option, the meteor disappeared. Random... and probably not related to the Mutant Island Plot, but worth mentioning.

Having the two "plots" (the Cup and the Mutant Island, or whatever it was called) cross over in some fashion has the potential to be interesting, or at least funny. But in most cases where I've seen opportunities for Neopets plots storywise to be creative, they've missed the boat.

I wouldn't be surprised if it really was the end of that plot - virtually every one I've seen since joining Neopets has started off at a good pace, then got rushed towards the end. However, they did leave it pretty open-ended, so I'm thinking a continuation's very likely. And remember how in the Lost Desert plot, there was a half-hearted ending in the middle of it, and some time later the plot resumed and the news basically said something to the effect of, "Haha, we lied, it's not really over :P "

It wasn't exactly a big plot was it? Besides the weapons, what do you count as useful? Except weapons and paint brushes (and this plot was certainly not big enough for it), all plot prizes have been 'useless'...

But remember the inflation of weapons? EoE was around 210k. Pike Pike was above 190k. Leaf shield was going around 50k. SoRF was going around 650k.
Honeypotion was above 1mil.

Imagine people that were buying these. Know how they feel when they see the prizes?

That's why you're supposed to already have a battleset (even if it's just a basic one) and never buy weapons during "wars." ;) The big battlers invested in extras of all that stuff and made a fortune off everyone who was scrambling for a set!

Yes but you'll have to sometimes upgrade it. For example you're not going against the petpet horde with some 8 icon weapons would you? You'ld go there with at least weapons of 10 icons.

Dunno...if it's up to me, I'd still not upgrade my set during a war. The extra NP that's essentially wasted aren't worth the measly one or two points in the 'war'.

One should already have thought of facing stronger opponents before the war actually comes anyway.

My main attackers do 16.25-24 icons, so there's not a lot I can upgrade to. ;) However, if I were going to upgrade, I would never do so during a war -- weapons are just too inflated. Like Jerch said, upgrading your 8-iconers to 10-iconers won't help a lot, anyway. For example, let's say you have a 55-boost pet:

With two 8-iconers and fierce attack, you'll do 45 points of damage.
With two 10-iconers and fierce attack, you'll do 56 points of damage.

Those extra 11 points of damage might get you, what, a couple extra kills per opponent? It's going to make just a tiny difference in your final score, and it'll most likely cost you more than you'll make on prizes. You should have a set all the time, not just at wartime, and if you want to upgrade, you should do so after a war has ended -- that's when everyone's dumping weapons for cheap.
