The chatboards have had a makeover and know you can see a small image of your active pet underneath your avatar.

It seems unnecessary and takes up a lot of room. What next?

Is it just me, or is the centering all weird now too?

Ugh. I hate it! And everyone always has their ugliest and cheapest pet up because then Boochi won't get it so yea.

The centering does seem off. It also seems off in the guilds too, but that could be my imagination.

I think having a picture of your active pet makes the boards look more cluttered.

I am sure TNT are still working on the layout - I hope anyway. The links at the top of the boards should be centered but at the moment are still left aligned which is weird because Premium link is centered and looks weird sitting in the middle of the page when the other links are not.

The guilds have definately been done as well, which I am happy about but the guilds seem to far right aligned - not quite in the centre of the page.

I personally dislike the move to change the Neoboards... but since I don't use them, I won't complain much. My gut feeling is that they changed the board, showing active pets, as a subtle way to showcase customization... which leads us to the NCMall. Just small ways to make you feel "ashamed" that your pet doesn't look as good as some of the others around you, leading to maybe a few more sales.

Are you kidding me? What is this all about? This is just a space waster, and who cares what someones active pet is anyway? I know I don't. And the new ad on the right side of the screen is horrible. Not to mention on the boards they put the ad that goes on bottom on TOP now. What are they trying to do? Scare people off? I already told myself I'm quitting after the altador cup prizes come out, but come on neopets. You're just digging yourself farther and farther into the hole.

Um. That is REALLY weird.

Because, I thought the whole point of the second Neopets login page was so that scammers couldn't fake that page... because it showed your active Neopet (which no-one would be able to figure out).

I'll bet this has something to do with the new neocash items. Now people can see what your pet is wearing and get interested in buying their own cash items if you have some. I'd still rather not risk posting on the neoboards just to show off my pets. lol

I also find it more cluttered now. The avatar and the pet together are just too much information, and I start ignoring them both. If they wanted to give people a chance to show off customized pets, a very simple solution would be to give people the choice to pick a picture of their pet instead of one of the other avatars. That would make it uncluttered, but still give people a chance to show off.

I think it'll take some getting used to (how many times have I said or heard THAT in the past couple months? lol) but I really don't mind it. Sure, it's gonna look more cluttered at first, because they added new content that we aren't used to! But give it a chance and I'm sure you'll notice that not only does it separate people who are using the same avvie, but it's kinda neat to see all these different pets, especially since each one is unique, thanks to customization!

Its annoying. The ads just make it look horrible and squished, and personally, it hurts my eyes seeing a load of rainbowy colors going all weird at the side of my screen. Also, it takes a whole lot longer to load... what annoys me is, I have an old computer with an ancient graphics card, and soon, I guess, I probably wont be able to use neopets unless I get a new computer. Which is annoying. Just cos they probably have state of the art computers, we dont all have them....

I had a look at the new Neoboards and thought it looked alright, although I too am puzzled because this seems to override the security precaution they added a couple of years ago to show you your active pet to prove you're logging into Neopets before you enter your password. I also find it annoying how the pet icons are kind of small and blurred, but I do like being able to see the active pet. I've thought for a while that Neopoints are a bigger deal on the site than Neopets themselves, so in a way it's nice to see something that gives pets a more visible role.

Having said that, I have Premium and don't see the new adverts, so I'm less positive about it after reading what you guys are saying. Does anyone have a screenie of the ads you now have on two sides of your screen?

The ads are really not bad, even if you don't have premium, as long as you DO have Firefox. I installed AdBlock plus and NoScript into my browser. Not only do I not get any ads -- I've finally found the source of the endless cookie grabbers SpyBot finds on my computer. Not shocking to discover that they were coming from Neopets "sponsors."

It's worth it to download Firefox (it's free)... and really easy to install the add-ons.

The centering is off, and there is a new ad on the right side. It is nice, but there still needs to be a little work.
