...and me! Even when I had posted that it wouldn't be long. It seems that everything went Kablooey after the letter E.

I would have gone silver today (level 13), which was the level I had aimed for.

I hope we will be awarded the points when TNT realise the error.

I'm sure we will - since they showed us last time that this happened that they were willing/able to restore our points to us. With the look of the Altador Cup boards this morning, there's a lot of gripes on there, and even if they don't start going through bug reports from yesterday, I'm sure one of the mods will get sick of seeing comments about it and start griping to his/her coworkers (at least, I'm guessing this might happen, since where I work, the more people gripe, the quicker we find a way to get it to the responsible person for resolution so we can stop listening to the grips ). Maybe they'll run the script during the day and we'll have our points back by the evening? That'd be nice.

Standings for yesterday's games are out, but no final 4 announcement yet.

I know none of us knows their scoring method, but I really hope this isn't true. If it IS true, the scoring is completely different from last year (last year was on quality, this would be on quantity) - and if that's the case, I'm not sure how the standings can look so similar. Most of the high-performing teams from last year are also near the top this year, and vice versa - yet the Haunted Woods is down a lot, presumably due to people signing up because it's the 'best' team and not contributing as much to the average as players from the runner-up teams. I prefer Cranberry's theory that the scores ARE weighted so that larger (more popular) teams have no advantage, but players who don't submit any wins that day aren't taken into account when working out the weighting for the average.

*sigh* Oh, whatever. I'm not too worried now. If Roo Island take the gold, awesome. If we don't, we won't have Haunted Woods Syndrome next year, and will have another shot at it! I do miss the Battle For Meridell days when you could watch a live ticker of war points, look at it and smile, knowing that three of those 2,486,025 points were your VERY OWN contribution!

whoever wins, plays for the title.

for each.. then the total at the end could be the winner

only allowing 1 to play 2 and 3 to play 4 just doesn't give everyone (especially those in 3rd and 4th place) a fair chance considering everyone who isn't in the finals is going to be joining the top two teams due to the possibility of being on the champion team..

It doesn't matter how many join the top 2 teams, because they play each other. Third and 4th play each other, so wont be affected by anything else.

I'm beginning to wonder if there will even BE any more games this cup. It seems that nothing's changed, we've lost a day of finals, and 80% of the neopian players have lost game scores from Tuesday.

My guess is there will be a news item that says, "Sorry, we've had a server problem, no more games!" with a little smiley-face emoticon, and they'll hope we all just forget about it.

I won't complain... because I might be wrong here... but it somehow doesn't seem very fair to those of us in 3rd or 4th place (assuming thats where Shenkuu winds up). Why?

Anyone can join the top 4 teams now. Let's say everyone flocks to the top two... and trophies are awarded to those teams. Basically, if you worked really hard the entire tourny and got 3rd or 4th place, you either get the bronze or a ribbon. If you played Faerieland, but joined one of the top 2 teams, you get either silver or gold. I hope TNT thought about this and makes it more fair to those who've supported the top teams all along by awarding those players better prizes.

Could you post the others? (for those of us without Neo access currently) I'm guessing it's Roo/Darigan, and then Shenukuu/Krawk?

Edited to add: the last day of finals is July 8. There is a big picture of the cup in the July 9 column. Also, you can start playing YYB against the other teams now, if you're on one of those teams. No clue what to do if you played for someone else during the round robins.

Last year they got around this by having special cooler-looking 'Devotee' trophies for those who stuck with their team from the first round right up to the final. Even if it's the same this year, having a 'Devotee' bronze trophy would be worth more in the way of kudos than a gold 'Supporter' trophy, imho. (Yet surely they can't do this AND let us keep the gemmed shields we've earned with our plays... I wonder which trophy will be for keeps.)

The matchings are now up, and the games are re-activated already. This is bad news because it means we only have three and a bit days to play the final, not four as I'd hoped. For those of us in early timezones, it's bedtime already.
