Rikku grabs the Dark Knight - Darkness Dressphere and does some creepy Dark Knight stuff to Young Link, H. Ryu, and Blaze for -3 damage each.

Wow! Big SNAFU caught! Yoshi had +3 HP than was in my records. I just spent about 30 min quadruple checking that. He should have been at 29 HP after getting the Tomato in the second round of this split. Feel free to check my math if you want (it is heavily insisted). You have until the end of the round I will post later today (the last round).

Also, Valefor is still circling for those who wish to use it.

Round 167

SSBB = Super Smash Brothers Brawl
To all of those interested in joining, there are no sign ups. You can just start playing right off the bat. If you need additional help, I am here most of the time and more than willing to try to help as much as possible.

Rydia
- pic from Picture Shrines

Edge runs to the sidelines to flee the fighting. Hayabusa Ryu throws a kunai at Edge. Edge catches it barehanded.
Edge: You think you are hot? Booya!
Edge draws his Masamune. Ryu draws his True Dragons Sword. The Dragon Sword is much bigger.
Edge: Oh bugger. Well, uh... Aha!
Edge jumps into the stands. There is a scream. Edge returns holding Rydia.
Rydia: What are you doing? See Ryu. Eeek!
Rydia hides behind Edge and starts casting a spell. A pair of portals open up. Shiva and Leviathan appear. Shiva powers up a Diamond Dust and freezes Yoshi and Paine for -3 damage each. Leviathan roars and calls forth a Tsunami to wash over Zelda, X, Kasumi, Blaze, and Simon for -2 damage each.
Edge: That worked better than I expected.
Rydia: What?
Edge: Nothing. Let me escort you back to your seat.
Edge picks up Rydia again and carries her away. She screams again as he grabs her butt again. Shiva Blizzajas Edge. Yuna has Rikku’s head trapped between her legs.
Yuna: Surrender! I broke Sin. I can break you!
Rikku: Never! I’ll mess you up like I did to the Mi’hen Highroad!
Rikku tries biting Yuna’s leg. There is a quick flash.
Yoshi: Yoshi. [Trans: This is going to be my new wallpaper.]
Yuna: You dirty, little...
Yuna changes to Ninja and Throws Rikku at Yoshi. Wario finally finishes scratching himself and holds up a stinky hand.
Wario: Wario Punch go!
Wario clenches a fist, cackles and starts running around. Blaze gets on all fours and starts hissing and spitting. She starts running around like a cat out of hell.
--------------------------------
Samus finishes firing into the ceiling. The ceiling creaks and collapses. Sam, Snake, Leon, Pit, and Meta Knight fall to the ground.
Snake: How’s it going?
Samus: Did you hide Pikachu in the carpet?
Snake: Whatever gives you that idea?
Pikachu: Pika! Pikachu! Pika-pika-Pikachu! Piiiiii-pikachu! [Trans: Liar! He did it! The idiot and his dumb friends trapped me while I was sleeping! Get him Samus! Get that [censored], [censored], [censored] creep!]
Everyone looks at Pikachu, confused. Pikachu sighs with a small mushroom cloud.
Kratos: I say you should string them up.
Saber: Like we did with you?
Sam: I guess blondes are violent and not du...
Saber readies her Invisible Air. Sam quiets.
Samus: Now, we are going out for a little bit. Fix everything.
Snake: Why do we have to do everything?
Samus arms her laser gun. Saber readies Invisible Air.
Snake: New paint and everything?
Samus powers up the gun.
Snake: And mints on your pillows?
Saber grips her ‘sword’ tighter.
Snake: Ah. Mint and cash. Lots of cash.
Samus and Saber ease their weapons and leave.
Sam: We are so whipped.

0500/1700 Rule: Regardless of when the last update occurred, you may make actions after 5AM/PM your time zone. There is no need to wait for an update to make an action, but it is recommended. Any actions that break this rule will not count as a legal action and will be promptly (eventually) pointed out. If you miss one of the posting periods, you will not get an extra move. I will allow posts +5 minutes in so you don’t have to rush your action.

Simple Heal format:[Character] heals for +2 HP [Do not forget the bold.]
Example heal: ‘ Kirby heals for +2 HP
Code:
[b][Character] heals for +2 HP[/b]

Specials follow the same format where appropriate.

Specials and weapons should be used before regular attacks can be used.

Special users can defeat one 1 or 2 HP NPC of their choice in addition to their special use (meaning without targeting the NPC with the special).

Final Smashes (FS): FS actions are powerful, character-specific moves with special effects. They can only be activated two ways and usually involve the character being removed from the game (see below) for a short time. The FS use counter does not reset until all characters have used their FS. To activate: either use a Smash Emblem or buy it with some points. Characters that still have an available FS are marked with the Yen symbol (¥)

Removed from the Game (RFG): Unlike in Magic: The Gathering, this is not a permanent effect. Characters removed from the game cannot attack or heal but cannot be targeted. They return to play after a set amount of rounds. At least three characters will remain in play at all times.

Titles: Titles basically serve no purpose except for bragging rights. You do get a minor point boost or some other bonus effect for earning them though. Some titles will be earned via the war, but most are available during regular gameplay. Some titles are even multiple use so they can be had by many players. A list of all earned titles will be kept throughout the game. At no time will it be revealed how you earned a title so it will be a better challenge to get them. Some will carry over to the next game(s), but most are once per game.

Example Titles:
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter; Metroid Prime Hunter; One-Winged Angel; Jedi Outcast

Special Character - Gogo: Due to Gogo’s unique nature, I will post his information every round. If there are any questions, PM me, and I will willingly help.
Gogo cannot attack or heal. He is active every round. He has only one special which he uses every round.
Special: Mime: *Gogo copies the last action done (the post above this use). *Gogo’s user may choose new targets. *If a special was used, Gogo receives -3 damage in addition to the special’s effects. *Cannot mime FS-es or actions in the GM’s posts. *Cannot be the first action of the round. *If Gogo is not used, he automatically heals for +1 HP each round, but he starts with 30 HP at the beginning of the game. *He counts as male for gender related contests.

Starting/Maximum HP = 50

Factions: (** = Active Ability)
Castlevania: +30 - Vampire Slayer - Characters can automatically defeat two NPCs with 1, 2, or 3 HP or defeat one 4 or 5 HP NPC in addition any other actions this round
Deep Space 9ers: +50 - Reflective Shields - All attacks directed at the members are reflected back to the attackers. Members can still attack
Dream Land: +20 - Skill Copy - Members may use any special belonging to any [Faction] member. (Check character guide or with the GM for specials)
Hyrule: +90 points - Magic Sack - Members may use any weapon unlimited times (weapon changes user after each use unless user can do unlimited attacks) (Check item guide or with the GM for items)
Independent: +0 - None (duh, they have no team)
Defeated - Kongo Jungle: +20 - Monkey Friends - When a member is attacked, the attacker receives a -1 damage counterattack for every -2 damage dealt to member (counterattack is rounded down)
Defeated - Mushroom Kingdom: +40 - Mega Mushroom - All members deal double damage for the rest of the round, but cannot use weapons. Negative side effects are doubled for members
Mythology: +?0
Defeated - Pokémon: +50 - Pokeball - A random, unused Pokeball is activated. Members are immune to the effects
Defeated - Sephiroth: +50 - Summon Sephiroth - Either: a Guard Armor or Dark Trooper appear; or Sephiroth appears for the round and deals up to -20 damage distributed among the remaining characters.
Sonic: +60 - Hyper Sonic Speed - Members cannot be attacked for the rest of the round. Members may still attack.
Square Enix: +170 points - Job Change - Members may use any Dressphere that is currently not being used (Check Dressphere guide or with the GM for Dresspheres). Counts as a weapon action
Versus: +70 - Versus: Adrenaline Rush - Members may make unlimited actions. Special users may use their special twice (any given player may only use the special once)

Round 167 Announcements:
1: Brackets?! I can’t do that, Dave.
2: I hope you liked the commercial parodies. They are really fun to write. If you have suggestions, feel free to PM me. I will be doing more of the ‘who’s greatest’ discussions since they are pretty fun to write. Drools over the idea of more Mac vs PC commercials.
3: Read me! Or at least the ones written by your beloved GM
4: There are just a couple more Mac vs PC commercials to do. After the latest part of the plot, I think the ‘who’s the greatest’ debates will return.
5: Minor-Major Announcement: I am going to need help writing Final Smashes for next game. Since the real SSBB isn't out yet, we will have to embellish a little for potential returning characters (Ness, Purin, Falcon, Koopa, etc). If you want to help, fire off a PM and we'll work something out.
6: Important: This is the last round to finish this game up before I leave for Japan. I don’t think I’ll be available to even get back to Character Request PMs and the like during that time. We have a lot of strong specials and Final Smashes left to use. Heck. Once all the current batch of FS-es are used, then all of the characters with one will get it available to use again!
7: Today is the last round of gameplay, but I will dely posting the winner until late in the day (my time). That will be a good thing for all of us since it give you time to fight and me time to write.
8: Important! If you spent any points this game, PM me with your estimation (or numbers) of how much you spent. This is for titles and prizes.
9: Rydia’s summons were picked via random number generator. Their targets were picked mostly (about 80%) at random by me.
10: I am currently planning at least a page of typing for tomorrow’s plot. Preview: Sephiroth, Reno, Munro, Snake, and Yoshi, Yoshi, Yoshi!
11: I went a little nuts with Star Wars inspired titles last night. Just think of the movies’ titles and how these titles are earned are simple.
12: The damage to Siegfried would have been enough to defeat him no matter what. Thankfully, that was the case since I don’t have my dice and don’t want to use the random number generator again.
13: All GS bets will be handled via random number generator, but that should not (hopefully) ruin any results.

This Round's Weapons:
1 Sword-chucks: -4 damage to two characters and -2 damage to user. +2 points if you include: ‘Sword-chucks. Yo.’ in the post.

This Round's Dressphere - Square Enix use only!:
Gambler - Lucky Shot: -3 damage to one character and +5 points to player

This Round's Specials:
1) Paine: Dressphere Change: Choose one: Mascot - Party Time: -5 damage to one character. Paine is automatically immune to regular attacks; Dark Knight - Darkness: -3 damage to three characters and Paine; Lady Luck - Lucky Shot: -3 damage to one character and +5 points to player
2) Simon: Cross: -3 damage to three characters and -3 damage to Simon
3) Blaze: Fireball: -4 damage to one character
4) Wario: Wario Punch: -5 damage to one character
FS: Edge: Rydia of the Mist: Automatic. Two Summon Materia are activated. Edge is removed from the game for three rounds.

This Round's Stage:
Gold Saucer: Bet your points! (Betting does not count as an action)
If you have no points, you may buy them by declaring an attack with a character not using a weapon or special and sacrificing damage. For each point of damage you give up, you will earn 5 points. Up to 15 points may be earned. (Counts as your action).
Betting: Say how much you wager and chose from the following list. I will roll a d6 or d20 (your choice) for each bet. You win points based on your bet. Lose points equal to your bet.
Payout ratios:
Even/odd - 1:2; Prime - 2:3 (d6), 9:20 (d20); Individual # - 1:6 (d6), 1:20 (d20)

Point trade example:
Marth attacks Purin for -1 damage and trades 2 damage for 10 points

Betting example:
200 points on Even
3 points on Prime for the d6
10 points on 7 for the d20

This Round's Mini-game:
None

This Round's NPCs:
None

This Round's Faction Ability:
None

Quick but important poll!
If you want to be polled (no need to enter), please post what time zone you are in, based on GMT. I am in PST which is GMT -8. This way I can keep track of double posts better. Thank you!

C'mon, Chris, it's the last round. Leave Yoshi alone, please? :(

Paine dresses up extremely skimpily and shoots Blaze for +3 damage.

Before I hit the sack, I want to post another reminder to those that spent points this game to send your estimations of how much you spent to me. Specifically, I want to hear from Christopher and Typhoon since I think they spent the most. A great rivalry never dies between you two.

Round 168 - The Finale

SSBB = Super Smash Brothers Brawl
To all of those interested in joining, there are no sign ups. You can just start playing right off the bat. If you need additional help, I am here most of the time and more than willing to try to help as much as possible.

Story as of now:
There is a loud fanfare played over the stadium’s sound system. All of the fighting stops dead. More fanfare plays as the GM walks onto the field, flanked by Reno and Munro. The fighters part for their boss. A small stage raises from the ground. The GM and his judges step onto the stage. The GM goes to a newly raised podium.
GM: We are gathered here today to witness the bequeathing of this shiny trophy, Munro has a giant golden trophy beamed in, to one lucky competitor.
Rikku: Now wait a gosh-darn minute here! I’m the champ; we are cutting this short; and in the case of a tie, I am champ again by default!
Yuna: Oh shut the [bleep] up, Rikku! Geez! I have been wanting to say that for years! You weren’t that great a champion. The only reason you lasted this long is because you have powerful supporters.
GM: She makes a good point.
Munro: Which?
GM: Both. But...
Kasumi: Whine, whine, whine. That is all either of you do. You don’t fight. You certainly don’t have any body, especially in comparison to me. Everyone would rather have me as their champion. I can actually fight and would look great on recruitment posters. Unlike those washboards.
Yuna, Rikku: Excuse me!
GM: Please. We don’t want to see this devolve into some sort of cat fight.
Reno: Speak for yourself.
Yuna: I have had more than I can take of your sexist remarks.
Yuna draws her gun and shoots Reno square in the chest. He falls back. Everyone gasps in shock. Reno groans and slowly gets up.
Reno: Phew! Good thing I got Matoya that hearing aid before asking for this armor.
GM: Quite. As I was about to say...
Terry: I’m the new champion? Why thank you.
Simon: It is not going to be you.
Terry: Hello. I am what is known as the ‘King of Fighters’. It is only natural that I be declared the winner.
Simon: As actual royalty, I find that insulting. In fact, as the new champion, I decree that you issue a formal apology to all of us.
Wario: Who says you are the winner? I am one of the game’s biggest sponsors and top fighters. I would be the logical champion.
GM: Your last sponsorship check bounced, and we were forced to drop you.
Wario: Wha! When did this happen?
GM: About the start if the war. We tried contacting you many times...
Wario: But, it’s-a me! A-Wario!
Everyone groans at the cliche.
Yoshi: Yoshi! [Trans: I demand the floor!]
Roy drops out of the sky and delivers a fully-charged Fire Blade to Yoshi’s head, dealing -7 damage and defeating the dinosaur once more.
Roy: Who is laughing now! Whoo! Victory is mine!
Roy runs off to whence he came and disappears.
Yoshi: Yoshi... [Trans: What was that...]
GM: Looked like a very upset Roy.
Yoshi: Yoshi. [Trans: Oi. As I was about to say, I should be the champion. I came in second in the second game. I have a very large fan base. I have been defeated two (Auron: Three) times so far and have still come back! I am invincible!]
Rikku: If being defeated is a pre-req, than Auri-poo should get the title.
Yuna: Yeah. He is a lot better than you.
Suddenly, loud ominous music starts playing. Everyone turns and looks then gasps. Sephiroth has risen to the field from his lair. He surveys all of the characters and advances on the stage. When he arrives at the stage, he reaches into his coat and pulls out... his cellphone! He answers, thus ending the ominous music.
Sephiroth: Into phone. What? No, I am there now. Yes, I was just about to speak. Fine. I don’t know. Order some Chinese or something. Listen, I have to go. Bye.
Sephiroth turns and looks over the field. The ominous music plays again. Sephiroth gets out his cell and turns it off this time.
Yoshi: Yoshi! [Trans: Yay! Our fearless leader is here to free you from your complicated lives! The lives part, not the complicated part. And he will make me the new champion!]
Sephiroth: Hardly. I have come to claim the title I so rightfully deserve.
GM: Come again.
Reno: Laughs. He said...
Sephiroth: Thundaja.
Reno is blasted by lightning.
Reno: Okay. That hurt.
Reno passes out for the last time.
Sephiroth: The title of champion belongs to me. My Faction was the most powerful. My army crushed all invaders during the war. My people even saved you from Dark Samus. You owe all of them, and as their leader I accept all acclaim due in their stead. So if you excuse me...
Sephiroth starts reaching for the trophy... when Snake suddenly appears! Snake decloaks from his Octocamo, sneaks up, and stabs Sephiroth in the side! Sephiroth yells in pain and drops to the ground.
GM: Well, ain’t that a sudden, plot-twisting, great-character-killing stab in the back.
Snake: That is for tricking me into trying to sneak into the game one hundred sixty-eight days ago!
Sephiroth: But... I was in the middle of summoning Meteor... I have failed...
Sephiroth slumps over and passes out.
Snake: Oh, please. It wasn’t that deep of a wound.
Sephiroth: Quiet. You are ruining the moment. Yoshi! Carry me out of here.
Yoshi: Can do!
Yoshi sticks his tongue out and catches Sephiroth’s head. He drags his leader back off the field.
Sephiroth: This really sucks.
GM: Well! Any other theatrics to get out of the way?
Zelda, Sheik and Young Link start yelling and pointing to the Triforces on their hands. Blaze starts hissing and talking about being from another world or the future or something like that. X starts moaning and whining about some sort of robot thing. Edge heads into the crowds to try to get Rydia help him again.
GM: Enough!
Everyone shuts up.
GM: Listen, our champion this game is someone who worked very hard for the title. The champ put in long hours, fought very hard put their own body on the line to protect others. All of you have fought admirably, but this person was a step above the rest. Now, will the champion please rise.
Everyone stands, except Aerith who is too busy tending to her small flower garden across the field.
GM: Great. The only one that doesn’t listen is the champion. Yo! Aerith! Get over here! You won!
All: What!
Sephiroth: Now that is a real stab in the back.
Aerith looks up, surprised. Munro and Hazard Team escort Aerith to the stage, past all of the gaping fighters.
Aerith: Blushes. Why thank you. I... I didn’t know... didn’t think I had it in me.
GM: Smiles. You earned it.
The GM hands Aerith her trophy. He holds her hand high in triumph and help her hoist the trophy above her head.

Our champion!

Square Enix: +170 points - Job Change - Members may use any Dressphere that is currently not being used (Check Dressphere guide or with the GM for Dresspheres). Counts as a weapon action

Round 168 Announcements:
1: Game over! Hope you had fun!
4: Minor-Major Announcement: I am going to need help writing Final Smashes for next game. Since the real SSBB isn't out yet, we will have to embellish a little for potential returning characters (Ness, Purin, Falcon, Koopa, etc). If you want to help, fire off a PM and we'll work something out.
5: Request Info! PM all requests if you want me to easily get to them after I get back.
6: If you want to reach me after Monday, PM is the way to go. I don’t know if I will reply while away, but I will check all of my e-mail.
7: The next game will start no sooner than one month from now. It will most likely be a week later than that, but I think most things are in order and the requests should be done by then.
8: Titles! Yes, titles were earned this last round of rounds. First: Christopher earned ‘Had to Catch Them All’ and receives a free Pokeball next game. Our ‘Big Spender’ Typhoon netted himself +100 points. And who is the ‘SSBB All-Star’? It is Okamoto! He gains two anytime actions for next game.
9: How did Okamoto get the title? Here are a couple hints: It was not favoritism, and it was because of an action.
10: Why did Aerith win? She had the most HP! Didn’t you pay any attention to my discussion with Tested many, many rounds ago. If it came down to having to just declare a winner, the one with the most HP would get it. Got a problem with that? Then complain to the people that took the week and a half from us right at the end there.
11: Please leave this thread open for a little longer. Why? Well...
Pick the most popular characters!

Players and observers alike can vote for their favorite characters. Everyone will be given five votes in each category to be PM-ed to me by Sunday June 24 at 1600 PST.
Here are the categories: Male Character, Female Character, Multi-person Character (IC, P&M, J&L), Plot Character, War Character and Best Overall Character.
Thanks in advance to all who enter. PS: Aerith automatically wins... just kidding!
12: I will be keeping the game information as it stands now until I get back to SLO. That means if you want to check anything about this game with me, you can fire of a PM anytime in the next three weeks.

This Round's Weapons:
Most Popular Weapon - Gibson SG - Reason: The BFG and Smash Balls were popular, but there was only one time the Gibson was issued and no song was sung. It didn’t get the Inactive users I wanted, but was still heavily used
Least Popular Weapon - Fire Flower - Reason: Very few takers
Most Popular Dressphere - Dark Knight - Reason: Always used. Black Mage and Summoner were big this game again too
Least Popular Dressphere - Bard - Reason: No users :(

This Round's Specials:
Most Popular Special - Gogo’s Mime - Reason: All it took was one use and you were hooked. So hooked, you had Gogo Mime himself to the ground
Least Popular Special - Any of the ‘strategic’ specials that didn’t do damage
Most Popular FS - Really hard to say. Many Character’s were bought (mostly by Christopher). Once active, many were fought over. Smash Balls were sought after by all. I would have to say all were tops. I look forward to the demand for them next game.
Least Popular FS - None... I think
My Favorite Special - Aerith’s Great Gospel - Reason: She won
My Favorite Special - Gee. I specifically saved over 275 points to get Kasumi’s. Guess.

This Round's Stage:
Most Popular - Splinter Cell Co-op Theater - Reason: You guys blew me away with your response to it. Blood Gulch was a possible second
Least Popular - I don’t think there was one, but you can say otherwise

This Round's Mini-game:
Most Popular - Grunty Races or Hyrule Fishing - Reason: They got the best results for the most part
Least Popular - Hidden references - Reason: Very few takers, even with some big prizes
Biggest Success - The War! - Reason: Do I really need one?

This Round's NPCs:
Stats:
NPC Kills (NPC, # defeated, # sent):
Goomba - 17 - 30
Octorok - 4 - 20
Slime - 12 - 20
Koopa Troopa - 10 - 20
Spiny - 20 - 20
Deku Scrub - 7 - 15
Hammer Bros - 8 - 15
Kremling - 6 - 15
Heartless - 13 - 40
Paratroopa - 5 - 15
Redead - 8 - 15
Cactuar - 2 - 5
Like-Like - 5 - 10
Red Bubble - 1 - 10
Blue Bubble - 2 - 7
Bomb - 0 - 3
Shyguy - X - X
Wiggler - 1 - 5
Dodongo - 1 - 2
Lakitu - 5 - 5
Stalfos - 5 - 5
Moblin - 7 - 7
Zu - 3 - 3
Tonberry - 5 - 5
Iron Knuckle - 5 - 5
Metroid - 8 - 8
Malboro - 5 - 5
Thwomp - X - 5
Boo - X - 3
Floor Master - X - 7

Records:
Most Seen - Heartless
Least Seen - Dodongo
Best Average - Slime - 60% defeated
Worst Average - Red Bubble - 10% defeated

This Round's Faction Ability:
Most Popular - Square Enix - Reason: Lots of requests for the Dresspheres and massive use of said spheres
Least Popular - Hard to say since many were automatic or were designed to put off attacks

Quick but important poll!
If you want to be polled (no need to enter), please post what time zone you are in, based on GMT. I am in PST which is GMT -8. This way I can keep track of double posts better. Thank you!

Wow. About a month after game over and about a week before the next game, we get a reaction.

As to your Title requests, I considered a Title like that, but it is really one where I would have been remembering how everyone played. Maybe next game.

Things are going well on the workings for next game. I have just been on a bit of a troop increase and should soon be done with that soon. I was going to spend some time getting the next war in order (mostly finishing the new bosses).

Glad to see there is still some interest out there. Hope it is still there when the game returns.
