Full Question: "Would you buy a corn fuel for your car (that's good for the environment, etc.) if it cost $.25 more than your regurla fuel?"

Be honest. I would probably say no, only because I'm broke, but I'm curious what you guys think.

Most likely since at this rate we will be paying that US$4/gal in this area sooner than later. Plus once we get more of an infrastructure for ethanol, the cost will naturally go down while gasoline will keep going up.

No. But then again, I don't buy regular gas either. I don't have my license, and I kind of like it that way.

No, because corn ethanol is a fabulously inefficient and water-intensive way to get ethanol.

I'd buy cellulosic ethanol, though, which is obtained through a different manner.

No. I'll invest in public transportation and things like bicycles, thank you.

And for the record, they are building a corn-based (I presume) ethanol plant in my hometown. Looks like we aim to solve one problem by creating another...but that's just my two cents.

Corn-based fuels => Less food in the world (Especially in Mexico where there have been protests about the price of their food) => Food is more expensive.

So no, I personally don't think corn is the way to go for the economy, and the environment.

I don't drive, so I don't use petrol anyway, but anything is better than what we're using now, and I would pay for it, if I actually had money to buy it at the time, and it was easily accessible.

I would get public transport to work, but the earliest train is at 4:47am. When you start at 5am and the train takes 45 minutes, it's a bit impossible to do so (something my friend cannot grasp the concept of >_>)

No, I probably wouldn't. I'm a poor uni student ;_;
