So I'm having alot of trouble getting up in the mornings nowadays :(

It's currently the summer holidays so there's always the temptation to sleep in for ages...but I really do not want to waste half of my day in bed! I want to get up at about 9am at the latest. Yet I am finding this absolutely impossible! My alarm is pretty loud, and I've somehow managed to switch the tiny off button off every day this week & ending up sleeping in until the early afternoon.

Of course, the more I get up later, the harder it is to get to sleep & I'm spiralling down and down and down with that.

PPTers who are good at getting up in the morning! HELP!

Infinite alarms. Or at least a good number of them.

Multiple alarms are a good idea. I've started setting my cell phone's alarm as well as my alarm clock, because one time I missed half my first class on review-for-midterm day. It also helps to change alarm clocks--because you get accustomed to alarm noises after awhile--or move the alarm clock far enough away that you have to get out of bed to turn it off.

Yeah, that's a good idea. My bed is a double decked one with the lower level being a desk, so every morning I have to climb down if I want to turn the alarm off.

Putting the alarm clock far enough away so you have to get up is the best idea. Also try using an alarm clock that has a really annoying sound; I used one like this for a few years and it got me up every time.

Alternatively, you could always get Clocky...

Put the alarm on the other side of the room.
Alternatively, adopt the laws of the Insomniac and stop caring what time it is you get up.

Hmm, well I've tried putting the clock on the other side of the room...but for some reason I've ended up just flopping back onto my bed as soon as it's switched off :/

do you ever find you wake up a bit before the alarm? or do you sleep right until the alarm?

because i have found that if you're waking up, say 20 mins before your alarm, you will then look at the time and think, oh i can sleep some more, and then when the alarm goes off you're not in the right stage of sleep to get up. i found it was actually easier not to set an alarm and just get up when you woke up. but then, to go with that you have to go to bed early enough for you to be slept enough in the morning. thats what i did throughout my revision in the last year of uni - the first time i set an alarm for about 2 months was the day if my first exam, but i managed to get into the library by 9 everyday anyway, and i'm sooo NOT a morning person!!
