It does work, however there is not enough evidence to say it works with Coke. I forgot with what chemical it works with though.

However, it does happen.

Quote:
Trichinosis, also called trichinellosis, or trichiniasis, is a parasitic disease caused by eating raw or undercooked pork and wild game products infected with the larvae of a species of roundworm Trichinella spiralis, commonly called the trichina worm. The few cases in the United States are mostly the result of eating undercooked game or home reared pigs. It is most common in the developing world and where pigs are commonly fed raw garbage.

The species Trichinella spiralis is an important parasite, occurring in rats, pigs, and humans, and is responsible for the disease trichinosis. It is sometimes referred to as the "pork worm" due to it being found commonly in pork products that are undercooked.

I honestly can't see much. The video is too blurry/small, I didn't even notice the maggots until he picked one up, and even then it looked like a tic-tac.

No :P. However some people do : some meats aren't cooked very well. Like rare cooked meat.

Modern farming methods have almost completely eliminated worms in pork. As Light's link showed, you only have to heat meat to 60°C to kill any worms.

"The USDA recommends a temperature of at least 145°F (63°C) to prevent foodborne illness. See Critical Control Point."

Anything less than Medium is gross anyway. I'd raise my eyebrows at anyone who likes blood and animal juices in their steak.

Raise them at me then...

Was on holiday with my mates last month and at the restaurant we went to had a very liberal attitude to what "rare" was. Several other people got medium rare, I got rare. My rare was phenomenally uncooked and was amazing. The medium-rares were basically rares. So two other people gave me their steaks. Three steaks for €8, that's a huge bargain.

But just the thought of them being there is gross enough for me.

Actually, farms or ranches usually look after their animals pretty well. It is the abattoirs you have to look out for.

Wow. This pork chop sandwich I'm eating is delicious. So delicious, in fact, that I don't care about those worms. Besides, I know it's actually been cooked.

And add me to the "likes 'em rare" list.
