I think five is the perfect number for pets. It's still small enough that each pet can have a distinct personality, but it would allow us to have more of the pets we want. Besides, five is a neat, round number, and it matches the number of fingers we have on each hand. :)

Do you agree with me that a fifth pet spot would be an amazing idea?

I like the idea in principle, but I don't know what I would fill the new slot with.

I don't see why not.
If someone wants to get a fifth pet, why not let them?

I know I'd definitely get another pet, since all the pets I have right now have already been painted and ...well, there's not much else left to do with them. Except to keep on zapping the lab pet.

Good! I would love to have a fifth slot to lab pets and send them back to the pound for happy owners, but I have no intention of getting rid of any of my current pets, as I like their names WAY too much. (Assuming the pound was open again). But I really doubt they'll ever do it.

neutral...just because some people would use it to their advantage...but others might abuse this feature.

I personally wouldnt mind a 5th pet. Several have been added over the 3 years I was gone and I would love to have one of the new pets w.o using an expensive potion.

Yay, I'm not the only person who feels this way. :)
I recently realised that I MUST have a Jubjub. I like all my pets on one account to be a family, so even though I don't have 20 pets, I'd much rather create this pet on my main account than on a side. (Besides which, I like to look at my pets, and I rarely log onto sides.)

Edit: How could this be abused? I don't understand.

I voted neutral. If we were allowed to have 5 pets from the time we signed up, 5 would become the new 4, and people would whine about wanting just one more pet spot.
However, I think that allowing people to have a fifth pet spot after a year--or to buy a fifth pet spot with 50,000 Neopoints--would be a fairly good idea. By the time you get to that point, you will have learned some things about how Neopets works, and not just fill that spot with a random pet.

mostly just flooding the pound even more than it already is....(except its still closed if I remember correctly). Personally if I get a 5th pet it would be another pound pet, just to help keep the numbers of pets created down. The only downside of pound pets is the names...which some of them are definately messed up.

but more pets would also create an increased demand for items like food, clothing, codestones...anything you need to make you better better.

Thats good or bad...depending on if you're a buyer or seller lol.

and what happens to the people with the egg hatching pets (is there still only 1?) because I know they could have a 5th pet because of that.

I'm not too worried about pound flooding, because that would happen even if there were only 2 pet spots. There are some people who simply don't get attached to their neopets, and I guess that's okay. That's the way they play the game. That's just how they play the game. Personally, I think TNT should delete any pet that remains unadopted in the pound after 6 months.

That's actually a really good idea. And it would prevent 5 from becoming the new 4.

Why not just allow us to transfer pets to our own accounts, they we could have 25 ? without fear of losing one.

I so very badly want a fifth pet spot!!
But to me, five is not enough, but it's a good start, certainly better than just four. I hate having my pets stuck on sides.

I love Moongewl's idea. That either the number of pets you can have goes up with time, or you can buy more pet spots with NP. They could make it a bit like how shop sizes increase, but have a reasonable limit on it so people couldn't have hundreds of pets.

Or like neobeth said, if they'd just give us a safe transferring system, I wouldn't mind if my pets were on sides because I could switch them back and forth. But I really doubt that will ever happen. I'm beginning to doubt we'll even ever have a pound again. :(

I would love to be able to have a fifth pet. I enjoy adopting and labbing pets, so I currently have two spots taken up by those pets (because the pound still isn't open). The other two pets are my own through creation, but I would love to add another member to my Neopets family without creating a new account.

I love the idea of earning a fifth pet spot, though I think I like the idea of earning it through account age more than paying for it. Us long-time players need some rewards every once in a while!

A fifth pet seems like an okay idea to me. I wouldn't want them to let us have TOO many pets, but I don't think five is pushing it. Plus a fifth pet would be a fun goal to work towards painting, leveling and etc. for a while. :)
