about a week ago neopets merchandise arrived in holland. but it's nothing like merchandise from say the US. its small plushies and "collection" cards which you get free with buying different items!

Do you get rare item codes? Because I know they can't secure them on plushies.

You can get the plushies when you buy certain products.. with 2 products you get a small plushie and a 'random' card (meaning a collectable card or one of those item code card), with 3 products you get a large plushie (large being about 20cm).

You can also buy a pack of cards seperately, consisting of a couple (6 or something) of collectables and one item code card. So far though, I haven't heard of anyone getting more than a few hundred NPs, plus maybe an item that's worth a few hundred more.

i think you get a rare item code. but you'd think neopets would actually be able to bring out merchandise for people to actually buy. not just freebies!

How do you mean merchandise to actually buy?

I remember when Claires sold them when I was in the UK a while back. I've not heard of them selling on the Ireland/UK side for a while now. It'd be nice to see some plushies like the ones at Limited Too sold here. I'm sure a lot of people regardless of whether or not they know Neopets would buy them. A lot of my younger relations bought merchandise from Claires when it was there and got into Neopets that way. =)

well over here you have to buy other item(s) to get a plushie. you can actually buy trading cards, but they looked really different to the ones you can get from america!

Ahh I see what you mean. It's probably a way to get people into the trading card game then. I remember there being all manner of different kinds in different parts of the world for other Trading Card Games. I'll have to stay away from Holland, I've got a thing for collecting stuff that's different/unique. =D

Are the cards in Dutch by the way?

I might have a look too. Might be in Holland at some point during the Autumn. I used to collect other language Pokémon cards and rares. Still got a load at my mothers house. =D

Are the free plushies nice and do you get to chose which you want, as in which Neopet, or is it random?

You can buy a pack of cards for 2 euro, but I don't think they're the trading cards that you have in the US. You can't play the trading card game with them. They're more collectable cards. There are 60 normal cards and 6 special cards.

I heared they might be planning to sell merchandise here in the Netherlands, so maybe that's why they don't sell the actual trading cards? That way neopets fans will buy the real trading cards too?

Ahh, they sound like the collectable Pokémon cards. You got shineys and rares in those. I once got a transparent Charizard! :D

They're probably trying them out as a starter before they come up with other stuff. They may well start to sell the TCG there but I think you can order it online anyway.

I have a couple of the plushies from Holland (I'm Dutch so it's kinda easy :P)
When you buy a certain product you get a plushies. It's in a small bag so you can't see which one you get. There is also a card in the bag with the plushie.
These cards are just for collecting, you can't play the TCG with it (I have the basic sets and some boosters from the official TCG)
The plushies look kinda okay, I have 2 red Moehogs and 1 yellow Uni. The quality isn't the best but they look kinda like the "real" thing.
I hope this promo-action wil last a little longer. Right now the products you get neopets with don't really interest me, I kinda forced my mum to buy stuff so I could get the neopets ^^
