I'm a bit weirded out right now. I regularly put up my dailies junk in trades asking for small amounts of np (I don't like it taking up room in my shop), but today someone offered 100k for one of these trades. The name of the account is something along the lines of iluvkt### (my name is Katie and my online buds call me kt a lot) so I don't know if it's a coincidence or what.

Have there been any recent duping issues? Are they just stupid? Am I just lucky and this is a gift? I've received a paint brush before as a random act of kindness, but I just don't know...

Normally I'd advise anyone else with this question to reject it, but when it's yourself it's a little different.... :P

TNT IF YOU STILL READ PPT CAN YOU CHECK FOR MEEEEE???? :( I'm pulling my hair out over here.

Edit: Hahaha post #1000. Cool.

That actually happened to me too. My trade literally was just junk (guild contest) and someone offered about 150k for it. I neomailed the person asking if it was a joke/if they meant to. They answered back saying that they just felt it. I wish I kept that neomail. Their lookup said that their account was three years old, sooo I accepted. It was so lovely.

With all the duping and scams going around, it makes us honest ones really wary of 'gifts'.

I was sent a gift (around 3,000nps) from a complete stranger. I neomailed the person politely asking why they sent me something.

The answer came back:

Quote:
I saw you post on the board about the ssw. You were being polite and calm even though certain parties seemed to be intent on winding you up, that's a good quality to have so I thought I'd send you a present. That's all.

I accepted the gift and sent a thankyou. :)

While it is hard to decide, it is a little like 'pay it forward' or karma. Someone does something nice and it comes back.

Good luck with your decision.

P.s - I would accept it. :)

Yeah, with all the scams out there, it's very easy to be weary. I notice during the Altador Cup, there are so many people out there just being plain mean. Then there is always just one or two people around to say good luck. It's refreshing.

Sometimes I send people little gifts if they buy something from my shop. Just a little perk-up-your-day-for-perking-up-mine thing.

I really suggest, like others have mentioned, to neomail the person and politely ask them about their bid. :]

I tried doing that before until someone just neomailed me snapping back at me saying that they dont get fooled by scammers yadda-yadda-yadda.
I neomailed them back saying that they bought something from my shop and that I am far from a scammer this-that and the-other. Then my account got frozen, but luckily it was a super old account that I didnt really use so I just ended up making the account I use now.

People occasionally neomail me asking if they were supposed to get an item, but I've never gotten a response like that.

Heh, well I waited until I got on this morning to see if the offer was still there and I'd accept it, but they finally withdrew. Oh well. :)

sometimes people make accidental bids. I've done it before. I wasnt paying attention and click on the wrong lot. Bad day for me, good day for the owner of the lot lol.

& as for neoscams...I keep my neomail blocked from strangers. I lost one account to a scanner...I dont want to lose this one.

I have not had that happen to me, but I did once accidentally bid on the wrong lot. I was able to correct my mistake before I lost my np, though. ^__^

I'd probably decline any unnaturally high bids on my junk lots unless I knew the person who was giving me the np...but that's just because I don't need donations right now. I'm not into the game very much any more, so the money would be wasted on me. ;)
