Is there a way to get this theme permanently?

Refresh in the Haunted Woods between 11:59PM NST and 12:01 AM NST is the general idea.

You can just check by looking at your list of themes..

it is listed in there but since its the default theme and it wont let me change it out today it i spossible its just there for today maybe? or would it just not be there then?

lol, i remember last year my mom and I both got up at 3 am and get it. We refreshed like crazy and it got laggy but we both got it.

Almost but not quite. It has to be in the final minute - 11.59.00 - 11.59.59 pm NST. Once it turns 12.00am, it is no longer Halloween, therefore the Haunted Woods Site Theme is no longer attainable.

I got mine two years ago while I was wandering the neoboards at about a quarter to midnight, NST. I wasn't the only one. And it was a good thing too, because the whole site crashed at 11:59. Think about it: how many people click refresh at the same second? Instant DoS.

personally i dont even bother with the haunted wood theme.
I thinks it's ugly.

Plus, even if I did go to the all the bother to get it, my computer would probably crash from all the people trying to get it at the same time aswell.
meh.
But i might just go to the bother this year

It looks a lot nicer than it did before the revamp, if you ask me.

Anyway, I'm not really intent on staying up until/getting up at 3:00. Hopefully next year...

I wish that they could rotate the time or something every year. I think it's absolutely ridiculous to require me to be awake at 3:00 AM to obtain a site theme that I really, really want.

I'm thinking the same thing! It's 3:00AM my time! But I'll be going for it again this year.
