Okay! For the double modifiers, what I'm doing is putting Number 1 into the first box. Then I will go down numerically until I find one that matches the first letter of the Target (if one doesn't work, then I know not to use that symbol again). Then I search for matching symbols taken from the first symbol of the one that made it match. If none of those fit, I put number 2 in the first box, so on and so forth. It's worked so far for me. ^_^

Unfortunately I haven't tried the 3 digit ones, but I assume a similar tactic would work.

I was doing the exact same thing, but doesn't seem to work for me, i have gone through all of them, but i guess it doesn't help that they change every darn time...grr

Try them again, I think the whole thing is a little glitchy. One time I put 2 modifiers in, and I got symbols that weren't in that puzzle, then I did it again, and I got it solved.

Solved all my 2 modifier ones.

now to try the 3 modifiers.

(how I did it: I made a table of all the combinations that started with the V_ symbol,
and determined that there are only 3 possible combinations for a leading V_ for each result. on each puzzel I had a V_ in the key somewhere, so I just worked on that position, trying all the key combinations that would work. This eliminated *many* possibilities, so it was easy to sort through.)

Question: do we all have different combinations in addition to different puzzles? Someone check if this works for you also: (V = V_, P =the umbrella thing)
V+V+V=X
V+V+X=P
V+V+C=V
V+V+8=C
V+V+P=8
V+X+X=8
V+X+C=8
V+X+8=V
V+X+P=C
V+C+C=C
V+C+8=8
V+C+P=P
V+8+8=P
V+8+P=X
V+P+P=V

If everyone has the same, then we can come up with an master table of possibilities.

I got an interesting but useless message:

Dear Unsolicited Decorations supplier,

We have no desire to wallpaper our cafe in juppie silk. Please do not approach us again with goods or services or we will vaporize you.

Sincerely,

Some help maybe? I've been clicking and typing but nothing's happening. I tried checking if I'm missing some flashplayer or something, but that's all good.

ETA literally 5 seconds later: never mind, apparently only... I have no idea how to call it in English (driving me nuts) but only the numbers above the letters on my keyboard work.

That was such a lame sentence. Sorry.

It depends on your key. In one 2 modifier puzzle X+X=V, but in another X+X=C

Edit: Oh GAWD I've got 10 three modifier puzzles
Duopnotti: tell us exactly what you see, so we can help you :) 5 seconds later-- LOL glad you solved it. I did the same thing at first

OK do the start with 1 and work my way through, BUT if I know what combo gets a certain letter

(like V+8 = G, or P+P = G etc) and the target, I skip the numbers that I know won't work. Saves a bit of time...

My #2 has 3 modifiers and says Incomplete data. Is that the same for everyone?

I think they will say incomplete data until you first do all the ones that have one modifier and two modifiers but that's just my guess no proof

Guys, pay more attention to the LAST digit that changes than you do the first. If this is an addition problem, as I expect, the last digit is the only one unaffected by carrying.

Here's an example:

1234 + ____ = 3321

The number you want is 2087, but 7 is the only one you can figure out at first because the rest may have 1 added to them thanks to carrying.

I finally figured out that it was impossible to solve one that had incomplete data :)

Here is a message I got

Corporal Griddix,
I've told you half a dozen times that the security officer position has already been filled. I know you are interested in it but its not going to happen, so just find something else to do, all right?

Sgt. Lands

I've looked up these pets, but nothing interesting in that direction.

I'm having trouble with the significance of the key especially since I'm guessing. Anyone willing to explain the key?
