I don't know if it still works, but I suspect he got frozen because of 1 of the following 2 comments on his site (and possibly something on his petpage, which I never viewed):

"BTW, If any neopets page want me to add this calculator to their pages, I'm hearing offers, jeje. It's better for everyone that this calculator get hosted in a neopets fans site..."

"And don't forget to say thank you! ;) "

The first could be construed as trying to profit off Neopets' copyrighted material. It's also against the rules to charge (in NP or real money) for services related to Neopets, although saying "donations appreciated" and offering those services for free used to be perfectly acceptable. I think the second statement is akin to "donations appreciated," so I don't think they should freeze him for that. {By services, I'm thinking of when people would lab others' pets into painted ones when the pound was still working. You couldn't charge, but you could accept thank-you gifts.}

I really hope it's not for the program itself. We shouldn't get frozen for using it because all we did was go to Neopets sites, copy some info, and post it into a calculator. It's no different than using Excel (or other programs) for the Lenny Conundrum or a star mapper for the Altador plot -- it's just being smart in how you solve it, but it's not actually letting the computer play the game for you because you still need to click and complete it manually. I was planning on writing my own program to help solve the codes until ninboy's was available.

I'd appreciate an answer, because this trial and error stuff is getting on my nerves.

Find a combo that works for the first symbol (there will be more then 1) then do trial and error with those. That way, you have the first symbol so you are narrowing down the field.

I will also be very upset if frozen for using the calculator (or for sending the guy a codestone as a thank-you present). TNT has no business freezing people for an offense without announcing publicly that you're not supposed to do it, first. Freezing should be for punishing wrongdoers, not for trapping people who had no way of knowing they were doing something wrong.

That said, I'll believe that calculator users are being frozen when I read it on somewhere that's NOT the Neoboards.

I don't see how this would be any different than the constallation finders that were used in the Altador plot.

Exactly. Like lets say TNT never said having multiple accounts was not allowed. In that scenario you shouldn't be frozen because it was never stated.

For anyone using ninboy's tool, one of my puzzles generated no answer at all. There were no "O" shapes in my Key or Target. I used ninboy's tool again but selected the "WITH circle symbol" and found there were such shapes in my resulting solution. Hope this helps someone. :)

I'm stuck on my 3 mods. I want to use the calculater, but people are saying that they got frozen for it. I doubt that it's true, but I want to be cautious anyway. Is there a smart way to solve the 3 mods without using the calculater?

I'm afraid I don't quite understand.

Sorry, I'm hopeless at puzzles.

I think trail and error is the only way to go around it. At least it was for me, the combinations for the 2 mods on the petpage didn't match with with my combinations.

I've noticed something about ninboy's tool.

Any message id's that contain the letter 'C' don't seem to have any puzzle data.

IE: affaf2764Ced2cc1 gives me a blank page.

Message Spoiler

From one of the station security update:
Quote:
"Everything's fine, we're all fine, here, now, thank you"

Anyone else getting serious Han Solo vibes there?

Thanks for posting that generator. :)

It would've driven me nuts trying to do it on my own. I was having flashbacks to the tedium of Anubis Toxicology Reports and the frustration of the water puzzle.

Well, this is frustrating. I had one message that said incomplete data, but now that line is gone. And this issue with the letter 'C' is messing with the tool.

EDIT: Scratch that. One of the codes, for one reason or the other, decided to work. Got to the end.
