As for training, I refuse to buy codestones at that price (I'm trying to reach my NP-saving goal, so I won't buy until that's done) and I can't lab my battle pet (refuse to lose my Darigan Hissi). Looks like it will be mostly Kitchen Quests and crossing my fingers it blesses the right pet for me. :) I should probably get on that, huh?

Training is 3 Red codestones for me, can't afford that every day. Still labbing, and kitchen questing. Hoping for Water Fairie, would like to get Defense up to next level.

Defense only works if you use a shield or dual-duty weapon that blocks a certain type of damage. For instance, the Leaf Shield blocks 5 water icons, 5 earth icons, and 3 physical icons. Your defense boost is multiplied by the number of icons blocked to determine the damage blocked.

For example:

Your defense stat is 125, so your defense BOOST is x3. If you take water damage and you use a Leaf Shield, you will block up to 15 hit points of damage from any water attack. However, as the opponents' difficulty goes up, their Strength stat goes up with it, causing them to do more damage. Eventually, that 15 damage blocked will be very little compared to the total amount of damage done to you, so you would be better off trying to hit the enemy as hard as possible to end the battle early. Also, war opponents tend to have ridiculously strong weapons (Darigan Sword of Death, anyone?), so defense doesn't do a whole lot for you.

On the other hand, weapons that block ALL of a certain type of damage are immensely useful. Ring of the Lost and Ghostkershield are good examples of these.

I know. I figured since the three doors in the maintenance tunnels were done, we'd start the battling... Still, it could be that it comes out later.

I was hoping for a new step... I thought that maybe since the second door had stopped being clickable, we'd re-use it or something... I guess there's always tomorow.

Probably still giving everyone a chance to catch up. {shrugs, and goes back to trying very hard to be patient}

I hope they wait juuuust a little while longer for any kind of battling. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE wars, but my lab rat has been sitting at 246 strength for almost 3 weeks. *headdesk* Come ON, lab ray!!!!!!! *whines* :( It's not like I can codestone it, my level is 13 and HP is 700. *more headdesk*

Also, kitchen quests always seem to cost upwards of 20k and then give me ~700np in return. :| I can't remember my last stat boost, especially on the right pet.

Didn't stop them from releasing step 3, even though there are still people pulling their hair out over their 3 mods

I noticed the same thing. I just did one... spent about 20k on it, and thankfully, got an item worth about the same price in return (and found a petpet lab map). I doubt I'll do another - too expensive to be worth it.

Well, if they do have battles, I'm guessing you'll do just fine on the first wave with those stats :P

If that's not working for you, you can try items to get those last few Strength points. Ferocious Neggs, Cool Neggs, Strength Serum, Greater Earthen Potion, Purple Spotted Shroom, and Essence of Drackonack are a few options, but they won't come cheap. Twisted Potion of Strength has a chance of getting you there immediately for just over 100K, but you also have an equal chance of losing 5 Strength. Since you're a lab user, I assume the risk doesn't bother you much, so you may want to go that route.
