Werther! Ha! I knew they were going to bring in the Lost Isle plot! :)

He was experimenting on Petpetpets this time around. Well, that makes the giant bug thing make much more sense now - as well as the nifty technology guarding the inside of the tower on the island. *crosses fingers* I hope Roxton shows up! He's adorable!

Why on earth is "unstableness" a word? It really doesn't look right.
Otherwise, I'm loving this chapter. Very cool, very standard to plots--the hypertechnical explanation.
Now, where's the next step?

Minor nitpick: that's only true for NQ1. NQ2 is saved merely with the account.

I'm not finding a next step...do you think they're going to make us wait longer???

And I really hope they do tie in the LIP because it had a really crappy ending...

Woot! Neoboards are going nuts about a lack of a new step (I steeled myself and peeked in).

I'm loving the chapter, too! It's kinda cool that they're putting all the hypertechnical stuff in. Seems to be yet another nod to the older players.

{goes back to patiently waiting for the next step}

Could this have something to do with the Chemistry for Beginners game? Seems like there are some unstable compounds in that game?

However when a plot comes up I do find myself training my primary pet. My secondary just goes through the lab and deadly dice so that I'm not too worried about what happens if there's a battle approaching.

My strategy is not to use any neopoints that I have in the bank.
I play the games, get enough points for training and use them.
I'm generally working on endurance - which I think is the way to go for Toraurora at this point.
If you want to see my pets, my name on neopets is Katdragon.

Your pet has nice even stats.

Do you know about Boosts?

You are close to the next Boost of 55, you might want to train her up to that in Strength.

Agility (Movement) isn't important, as I don't think it does anything in the battledome (a more experience battler might shed some light on this). So you don't need to 'level up' on Agility.

Agility does nothing except increase the effectiveness of one weapon (it's a stealer, so it will be useless in the hopefully upcoming war). Don't spend your money training it.

I'd rather have no step, then have a step and deal with decryption again.

I believe the correct word is instability.

In other news, I'm loving the comic! Hopefully we'll have a new step tomorrow. I would still love to do some type of decryption again :P

Since I have nothing better to do right now, I am thinking of trying the brute force method and see if I can't get into the mine on Kreludor.

OOoh, if it were me, I wouldn't bother. It's probably not activated yet - so even if you do get the right combo, it probably wouldn't work. I mean, if it was, wouldn't we have been able to do that sometime over the last 4 years?

Has the mine ever served a purpose the whole time it has been on Kreludor?

"Unstableness" plays into the image of scientists being ungrammatical -- though they do love their jargon, so it's not completely realistic. And thanks for the correction on NQ2 -- like I said, it's been years since I played that one.

What's the green Ixi's name? Maybe we have to look him up (as a pet) to "come with" him, then we can start battling...

ETA: It's Commander Valka -- helps to look...

That grated on me, too, but I looked it up and "unstableness" is technically a word. An ugly word, but a word nonetheless.

Does anyone think there's going to be a link between this plot and the Lost Isle plot other than using a character?
